    a goodyear gatorback belt for your car would be part number GTR-4060872 the 60 means 6 rib the 872 means 87.2 inches (or 87.25) so I would see approx how much shorter you need and try and get a part number to match. Maby a GTR-4060850 or around that neibourhood

    just a U/D crank pully is not worth any power gains...maby 1-2 RWHP. I would just go to a NAPA and ask them for the part number for your replacement belt and tell them you want the next size smaller. The part number has the size in it so if yours was say a 25-60-845 I would ask for a 25-60-840...

    one of my friends uses a 4 cyl tranny and perfers them over the V8 ones. He power shifts his all the time and beats on it like it ows him money....still shifts smooth with no grinds his car is an 87 with a B or E cam (cant remember) MAF conversion. explorer intake, gt40 heads, full mac exhaust...

    I've started gather parts for a 5 speed swap

    there is a few 5 speed fox cars in my local yard...how hard is it to pull the pedal assembly. I also have a shifter boot and bezel if you still need one of those.

    Weird pulse, only in 5th....

    the driveshaft is not rpm dependant just speed...try finding out what speed in 5th it does this and gear down to 4th and go the same speed if it still does it it's likely something with the driveshaft
