Please help me buy the right flywheel for my '01... 6 bolt or 8 bolt?

I just went through this. I got an aftermarket clutch (Fidanza) and it was screwed up within a year. Had to replace the flywheel. Went back to stock the entire way (clutch, pp and flywheel). I went through O'reilly's for the flywheel as they were the cheapest. Aluminum flywheels have...

Dowel pins don't fit new flywheel

Update: New dowel pins from Ford... They are different sized now. You need to get metric dowel pins: Jegs P/N 397-M-6397-A302 Ford I think is just M-6397-A302. The dowel pins came in a pack of 6 so I had to buy the entire pack from Ford.

What is this on my oil cap?

Looks to me like more than condensation. Might not be a bad idea to pull a valve cover and see if there is any milking in the galleys.

I was threatened over the phone by John at Mustang Specialti

I don't agree they changed a whole bunch of stuff without letting you know first, but on the same note if you didn't agree with the work then you shouldn't have paid it.

I officially HATE the Bullitt Pedals, at least the install part!!!!

I hated mine. I just used soapy water and finally got them on. The brake and clutch off after 2 years and haven't put them back on. I'm using bare pedals. The easy one was the dead pedal.

HELP! 01 Bullitt cuts out at 4000rpm when warm

My race car did this... I know it's a different type of car but it would rev up to 5300 RPM and not go any further. It would pop and crack and sound like it was hitting a rev limiter chip. Turned out to be spark plugs even though they looked perfect. I replaced the distributor, wires...

    popping & clunking sound ???

Could be the pressure plate also. Mine was doing it when the fingers in the pressure plate weren't allowing the throw out bearing to not engage squarely so I had half clutch engagement. It would only do it in first gear (steepest ratio) and when I was going slow. The car would jump and make a...

Dowel pins don't fit new flywheel

After many hours on the phone with 100's of people we finally got it figured out. It is listed as a flywheel for a 4.6L but it is actually for a 3.8L. Apparently the 4.6L flywheel is a dealer only item unless you go to JEGS or somewhere like that...

    revlimiter/transmission question

About 2500 with 4.10's Here's a calculator and gear ratios: Ford Mustang: Mustang Tech: Calculators & Decoders: RPM Calculator 2000 Ford Mustang Specifications I made a mistake. I was thinking blower setup with the 4.10's. Get the 4.30's with the auto because then it'll be the same as...

Dowel pins don't fit new flywheel

Company doesn't sell them at all. They said go to a machine shop that surfaces flywheels and they have them.

    revlimiter/transmission question

I wouldn't recommend 4.10's with an auto. Too much gear.

Dowel pins don't fit new flywheel

The old one was bad off from bad clutch/pressure plate engagement. Mechanic strongly recommended not resurfacing it. Had a lot of hot spots. The flywheel was only $60. It did not come with pins and I called the manufacturer and they confirmed it as well that they do not provide them. The...

Dowel pins don't fit new flywheel

Just got a new flywheel and the dowel pins out of the OEM flywheel will not fit the new one. It's an O'reilly (Sachs Part Number: NFW1175 ) flywheel and the holes are too big for the pins. Am I missing something?

    3.73 vs. 4.10 - My actual experience

I take back everything I said. I have 3.73 gears. I have a rebuilt transmission and looked at the tag on it and ran it. Instead of having a .68 overdrive I have a .74 which gives me a pretty close calculation between a 3.73 with a .74 over drive and a 4.10 with a .68 overdrive. I'm talking...

Vibration on take off, terrible on inclines

It was the pressure plate. The clutch was only grabbing about 3/4" to 1" of the clutch. You could see on the pressure plate fingers where it was skipping some of the fingers and not getting a full on engagement. The TOB was catching the fingers at an angle.
