    3.73 vs. 4.10 - My actual experience

I have a 5 speed.... It's turning 2500 @ 70. I originally bought the 3.73's because I have a 100 mile commute, one way and the Stang is the my current DD. I don't really care for the 4.10's for this commute. If you don't have a long commute to work and just drive the Stang for fun then...

    3.73 vs. 4.10 - My actual experience

This is a completely unbiased opinion. The reason I say this is because after I killed my other rear end with 3.73s I did a rear end swap (entire rear end). I was supposed to get 3.73 gears from FRPP and apparently they installed 4.10s. Everything on the box said 3.73's including the shipping...

    Gas mileage...3.73s

Just figured it out on the way in this morning... the new rear end from FRPP was supposed to have 3.73 gears in it... It actually has 4.10s. I'm running 2500 @ 70 MPH. I thought it was a bit high because when I had 3.73's I was running around 2200 or less. That would explain why 1st gear...

    Gas mileage...3.73s

I'm guessing I need to clean out my air filter. It's a fender mounted CAI. Just doesn't feel like it has the right amount of power like it used to either.

    Gas mileage...3.73s

I tried to find some of my old posts but can't. I don't remember getting 21 MPG with 3.73's before I got a new tranny and rear end. Now it averages 20 to 21 with the 10% ethanol blend if that matters. This sound about right because I thought I was getting 23 before I parked it for a while..

    my rear end blew up!

I got a brand new Ford Racing rear end with factory installed 3.73 gear set (you can get 4.10 also) for $700. The only thing I reused were my stock axles. Everything else was brand new and I put it in myself with no issues. Might be a cheaper route. Gears: $200 Carrier: $280 Labor...

    Caster issue after Bilstein install

Yep, they said it was as close as they could get it. It actually doesn't drift at all that I've noticed. Steering is a tad bit more responsive to the right though. I've gotten about 40 or 50k out of my KM2's so I'm not too worried about wear right now. Especially considering I can't rotate them.

    Caster issue after Bilstein install

Got it done by the shop that I had do it before. Here's the specs: LF // RF: Camber: -1.6* // -1.4* Caster: 3.7" // 3.1" Toe: .13" // .14" Cross Camber: -.2* Cross caster: .6* Total Toe: .26* The only thing out of spec is camber. They recommend -1.3* so it's not too bad.

    Smoked Healights...Silverstars vs. HID?

I've got silverstars in my mustang and bought an 8000k HID kit for my F350. Let me tell you, night and day difference. I will take my truck over my stang any day of the week. My lights do blind the heck out of folks I drive behind (height of truck mostly) but I can turn on the brights and...

Need an opinion please----> Rear Axle

FWIW...I got my 8.8 with 3.73's from FRPP from someone on eBay for $700 shipped. Not an upgraded unit but the stock unit with "factory" 3.73's works for me. I think it even came with a warranty.

    Caster issue after Bilstein install

I'm going to take it to the body shop that did it last time. They actually gave a print out so I'll scan it when it's all said and done. This shop probably doesn't know what a printer is.

    Caster issue after Bilstein install

I'm not multi quoting so here goes: The bilstein instructions said to get it aligned. After thinking about it the camber would be the only thing changed since the spinde angle moves when you tighten or loosen the top nut, no? The rivets were still in it, they removed them (looked like...

    Caster issue after Bilstein install

I MM bought plates when I bought the lowering kit, just never put them on because I didn't need them. Toe is fine, it was the caster he couldn't get dialed in.

    Brake bleeds

It's good now Rally. I just kept bleeding that particular caliper and had the steering wheel turned back and forth quickly while I tapped on the caliper.

    Caster issue after Bilstein install

I just put my my 4-year old Bilstein struts on the car and took it in for an alignment. The shop said he couldn't adjust the caster enough. He said he could only get 2 degrees out of it and drilled the rivets out of the top plates. I had it aligned after I had my eibach kit (stock struts)...

    Brake bleeds

Bled them again today. Noticed that my LF caliper was a dribble when bled like it had the clap and the RF was spewing like a champ. Kept bleeding the LF (about another 8 to 10 times) and took it for several runs and it seems pretty good. We'll see what happens.

    Brake bleeds

Master cylinder has 2 bleeders on the side of it. No issues with power steering or fluid level.

    Brake bleeds

I bled them today again and pedal still gets real hard when pumped. Did furthest to closest caliper, bled M/C three times on each bleeder, and then all calipers again. All fresh fluid came out of the calipers, system is completely fresh. Took it up the road and they were still squishy...

    Brake bleeds

I'll keep bleeding then. I know it took almost a whole 20 oz. coke bottle to bleed the M/C out of old fluid from the RR when I flushed the system.
