96 GT won't start. Need to get to work. Help!

I agree nyuk98gt. I think your fuel pump has seen better days. The only way to tell for sure though, is to take the car down to autozone or someone similiar that rents fuel pressure gauges and watch it.

16,000 Bucks What are my options

I like the sound my car makes with the Steeda crossover exhaust. At 7000 RPM's it sounds like an F-1 car with 12 cylinders running a much higher RPM level. Scares women, children, and the kid driving the cute little ricer car I'm about to destroy.

16,000 Bucks What are my options

Actually, there is nothing wrong with getting a GT to 350-370rwhp and expecting it to live 100,000 miles. 400 starts pushing it depending on how often you romp on it. If you stay off the floor, it will last like a stock engine. If you hammer it on a daily basis, it will last at least 50K...

    2000 GT Motor Build

That's what I said until my last $10K rebuild because of the Aeromotive pumps. The shop I use won't use those pumps any more after they replaced 3 of them. We caught the first 2 before fuel startvation did any damage. We didn't catch the problem with the third one until after the engine was...

    2000 GT Motor Build

Can't tell you anything more than I will sell you the unit I still have that doesn't have 10 hours on it. I drive 60 miles and I'm stranded when the pump overheats and can't pump. I gave up when I munched an engine from fuel starvation and went to the Walbros.

    2000 GT Motor Build

I would also dump the A1000. Not only didn't it keep up with the power when I went over 500hp, I also went through 3 of them. However, I've done a return system conversion. In Arizona they faded and failed. I've changed over to dual Walbro 255's and haven't had a problem since.

    4v heads on 2v block

Yes. Livernois rocks. Make them your new best friend for cam and head work.

    4v heads on 2v block

Although if no other mods are done, a 4V has better performance, I'm getting 500+ at the rear wheels on 91 octane. I can barely get traction with that and not much can hang with me, even at that level. I stick the programmer in my car, change to 100+ octane fuel and and 2 minutes later I can...

Do T-45s shift rougher than TR-3650s?

If you invest in a shift kit, you will find the shifting more notchy but you won't miss a shift and you won't bend shift forks. After 10 years, I can't imagine driving without one compared to the stock mush shifter setup.

96 GT 5spd suddenly hard to shift into gear

I agree with LarsD, you might be also be having a problem with the quadrant bracket.

Synthetic ATF or Synthetic Synchromesh in T45 Trans?

I also used Mobil 1 and my T-45 is still running with 400-650rwhp at 80K miles. I doubt few cars have been abused this much on various tracks and WFO runs for 30 minutes. I've even had to replace the rear bearings as those have been worn out in this process. Tranny still works like a champ...

max power on stock 2v heads?

With 12 lbs of boost, we got to about 420rwhp. Had Livernois port the heads and change the cams and I'm getting another 200+hp with 14-16lbs of boost. With some tuning, newer impeller, and higher octane fuel, I should be able to hit 750Hp. Might need a bigger MAF though.

What could cause one side of the motor to be richer than the other?

Don, how does the system calculate a lean condition on one injector if the other 3 are working?

What could cause one side of the motor to be richer than the other?

Don, I agree with most of what you say except for a single FI causing the bank to be lean. I will say that under higher power, my fuel pressure consistently dropped under full throttle. I went to a return-system after 2 of my cylinders went out similiar to the Terminator problem. At the end...

What could cause one side of the motor to be richer than the other?

We had problems with fuel pressure with the stock rails. You might want to change the plumbing and Y the two rails together. The way they are fed now in series doesn't work as the power goes up. If that doesn't work, get larger rails.

max power on stock 2v heads?

500 is about right although you might get to about 550. The difference with ported heads and cams is another 100-200 HP.

    Better gas mileage?

I've tested all these ideas I'm telling you about on various cars. They work. My comments are at the end of each analysis in parenthesis

    Better gas mileage?

You can pick up a few mpg with the following changes: 1) cold air kit or at least a K&N filter 2) Synthetic oil in the engine and tranny 3) Keep the car tuned up with fresh plugs 4) Keep the tires at maximum pressure 5) Keep the battery charged with a home charger if you run high-power...
