    help with speed density

Emmitt, The cam you have will determine if you need to convert or not as thats the main issue with SD as good vacumm is essential. Do you know the spec's of your cam? If so, please list them so I can give you more help. Your exhaust mod won't hurt anything, nor the heads, intake...

    Racing Seats

thats why your seats are so high.. Pick up a set of Corbeau brackets for those seats and they will sit a min 1" lower. I run the corbeau's and used their brackets due to my height (6'4"). I have plenty of clearence to the roof. Hope this helps, Scott

    2006 Boss 302 Mustang?

LOL. I've owned several 70 B302's & 71 B351's, 351CJ's, Aussie 351's. I never said NET did I. WOW, chill bud....your sayin the B351 was about 360 gross eh? and 300 NET, and that 300 NET is going to push a 3700+ lb car how fast in the 1/4?, try lower 14's They ran mid 13's which is closer to...

    2006 Boss 302 Mustang?

the Boss 302 was more like 350HP stock, insurance comp is why it was rated at 290. The Boss 351 was really 440HP+, but once again insurance comps forced Ford to rate it low at 330HP. If one ever looks at the spec's on the 71 Boss 351, theres no way that motor only made 330HP. Boss 429...

    331 vs. 347

oh ok. I saw in your sig that you were going with the 347e. I guess I mis understood your sig. sorry bout that. theres so many threads now about the 331 or 347 issue, side loads, rod ratio etc. For a N/A street motor, the life expectancy is the same. If I was building a blower motor setup, I...

    331 vs. 347

Just remember, the 347e use's a 5.315" rod, vs the standard 5.4" rod and the cam is the E cam (smog legal). If you look at my post on page 1, I put a pic of the pistons I use in my 347 and there is NO intersec issue. That piston is made by Probe, it's the SRS series Flat Top design. I use the...

Ram air or cold air intake?

I had the March Ram Air kit. A test was done not long ago between the CAI, stock box with a K&N, and the March kit. The March kit was the best for the 1/4 and speeds above 60mph. The big pain about it is the scoop hangs so low, you end up with leaves, small rocks, etc in the filter & box area...

Break in time for freshened motor?

500 miles is plenty. many shops break their motors in on the dyno, others do it at the track. rings seat faster than many people think. I just finished breaking mine in as well. I loaded the motor at diff rpms in diff gears right away, but kept rpms to 5k max till 150 miles, then I steped up to...

    Best Mufflers for Stock 5.0?

I hope you know that running an exhaust setup like that is hurting your TQ and HP. it may sound loud as H, but your going slower I guarante ya. These motors need back pressure to run right. Scott

    331 vs. 347

I thought for sure this mess would of died by now. the myth that 347's burn oil, that the ring land intersec's with the pin etc etc. Does this 347 piston look like theres any intersec problem?. me don't think so. 347 Piston Technology has come along way since the days of the crawford...

MAC Cat back users....need your thoughts.

Mike, I have NO drone and I run angled turn downs with HF cats. If you want something quieter than flows, might look at dynomax ST's, they flow more than 50 series flow's, and are much deeper and quieter sounding at an idle. but plenty loud at WOT. Just an idea for ya, Scott

AFR's 165's on a 331??? Good idea or Not so good idea???

Sounds like you want what I built. I have a 347, but built it for TQ, not big HP or high rev's. I shift mine at 6-6100 tops. I went with the RPM intake lightly ported,I have ported edel heads which flow prob like 165's, 80mm MAF, 75mmTB. Car makes great TQ. excellent driveabilty. Have Ed C...

    Best Mufflers for Stock 5.0?

I run the dynomax ST's along with a Car Sound/ Magnaflow HF Catted H pipe with angled turn downs and it's legal. I called a referee to ask about it. His reply was *as long as we can reach down to insert the probe, it's no problem* BTW, The Dynomax ST's flow 410 cfm per muffler. the 50 series...

    Choices for intake tubing?

simple way to overcome the heat that the chrome or other ones attract is to wrap it in thermo tech heat wrap like I did.. works excellent. my intake tube gets just luke warm even on 100+ degree days. It may not look pretty, but it sure does keep the tube much cooler. Before the wrap, the tube...

    351m

well, that all depends on what your after overall. the beauty in the 400 is the TQ peaks very very low and makes an awesome stump puller, but their not a rev motor. their dead around 5k or so depending on the cam. My wife is a regular on the ford truck forums and it's surprizing the number of...

Can CAT's actually help instead of hurt? Dyno Results inside

I would of also liked to see results on a N/A motor. I also thought it would of hurt HP more than just 2HP, but the TQ increase amount across the band is what surprised me. 20ftlbs more at 2500rpm. thats pretty impressive and no less than +10 at 6k. I know the BP on my system is very low for...
