    Ok... Yeah, mine ran great at cruise and WOT as well. It was only during that transition when the bypass valve closed. It was like a very small spot where it was lean. It was really bad when in a higher gear with the cruise control on and transitioning for a small hill climb or something.

    Don't quote me but I believe that there are TWO solenoids that deal with and feed the EGR. the TAD and the TAB. Both are in the location that jt has indicated above. I've discovered that doing voltage and resistance checks on these solenoids pretty much tells you NOTHING. They can test good...

    Fox Fan... Are you running a bypass valve? Have you done anything to change the EEC (i.e. are you still running closed loop)? I agree that your issue is likely spark related but also suspect that the trouble you're having probably coincides with your boost transition when the EEC is in closed...

    Dunno... Yours is the first time I've heard of this particular issue coming up. I mean... Any idiot (yes, even those that work for the DMV) should be able to look at your dash and see that there's no freaking light. lol

    remote start question

    You don't need to disconnect it... it just needs to be wired through safety switch. Youc an tap into the pig-tail that comes off of the front of the T5 Tranny. That will keep the starter form kicking in if the car is in gear. Have a REPUTABLE installer take a look.

    Usually, the rule of thumb for Ford is 10 years. I have however, gone to various dealerships and found that they still have vehicle part and wiring diagrams, still on computer.

    Do you have a Haynes or Chilton manual with an electrical diagram? If I recall correctly, there are separate diagrams for the EEC pin-out for the A9L and one for the SD EEC.

    It's a PITA but I've done it several times. I usually brace the tranny with my hands and knees to get it to align.
