    It would have been interesting to see a survey for 2005 V6 and V8 (GT) owners. It's interesting that currently we have a spike around 25 and 45 (mid life crisis).

    37 - owner of this 05 GT Previous stang was a '94 GT (bought it new back in '94) Before that was a 92 Honda Civic Before that was a 90 Honda Civic (Great car but I tottaled it :( ) Before that was '79 Honda Civic which I sold for $250 That's my car history to date :)

    It's a good "entry level" sports car. I own an 05 GT too ;) It's not a Corvette (or a Ferrari) !!! But for under $30K, it's really hard to beat in looks, power, and handling.

    I heard you have to cut the coils on FMS C Springs. I do not want to be cuttin coils on springs (got a 94GT here).

    Losing motor oil - 1 quart every 1000 miles

    No, I haven't done a compression test yet. I just purchased some Mobil high milage oil (sythetic blend). I was thinking about adding this additive that supposed to stop leaks but I decided not to use it - you never know what those can do !!

    It's been doing this for years. So a "compresion test" is a standard test that most mechanics can perform?

    Nope, my 94GT is mostly stock. Here are my mods - I should have listed them earlier: * 3.55 Gears * K&N Air filter * Pulleys * Dynomax cat back That's is, the rest is bone stock.

    My stang does not smoke. I haven't checked the throttle body yet but externally, I see no leak. May be my Stang isn't leaking but is burning the oil instead - I don't know. Will using a Mobil 1 10W-40 effect my performance any? I don't really mind tossing in a quart every 1000 miles...

    I notice that I seem to be losing 1 quart of motor oil every 1000 miles (roughly). I have a 94 GT (Coupe) with 104,000 miles. I use Mobil 1 10W-30 with a Motorcraft oil filter. My timing is set to about 10* and I always use 91 Octane. My PCV valve has been replaced multiple times and...
