    I have 18x8 fronts with 5.17" backspacing...car is pretty low with Global West 620 coils with one full coil removed. From the ground to the top of the opening is 24"

    How far you tuck depends on how low you want the car. The lower the car is the further in the tire needs to be. Conversely a "flush with the wheel opening or a little tucked" requires considerable clearance to avoid the dreaded rub...and I don't know about you but I think 18's with lo profile...

    I bought a pair of 18x9 +36 offset 2005+ Mustang wheels for the front of my 68 coupe. I had previously run a 17x9 +24 Cobra R wheel on the front that I had narrowed to a 17x8.     Run both...a small shot of NOS can be programmed to come on at certain boost levels to cool the intake charge like an intercooler but even better. High boost pressure equals higher intake temp which requires higher octane to combat the heat induced death rattle...

    No inner wheelhoues work. The only mod is rolled lips. And there is about an inch between the tire and spring. I was running 18x10 with 295/35 on the back but it rubbed a little so I went smaller rather than raise it up. The pics show the 10's on the back.

    OK here you go.... front = 5.17" (includes 1/4" spacer to keep rim off UCA at full lock) back = 5.94" (no spacers)

    I would say that it rubbed on moderate bumps...enough so that I was sure the only fix was going to be raising it up which I did not want to do...IMO large wheels with lo profile tires look dorky without the right stance...plus who wants to slow down for every friggin ripple in the road

    Heres the outside...notice how far in it is from the rolled lip. And heres the inside. This could have been fixed with a BFH. I have heard that 69/70 cars have more room so you might be able to pull it off.

    door problems

    The rod that connects to the exterior door handle is adjustable. So remove the rod from the handle inside the door. Unscrew the rod a few turns and then reconnect it. Test and if still no workie try a few more turns.

    The 9's will not fit the front but they will fit the back of a 67/68. Something else to consider when comtemplating wheel specs is the desired ride height. Typically the lower car the smaller the wheel tire combo unless the chassis is modified. IMO cars running 17" and 18" wheels with wide...
