    Mac Prochamber=GAY

Exactly. If his priorities are loud, than the h-pipe will be the best.. Your probably right about the power difference with his current combo. Intake is too big, cam too small. Heads unless ported are too small. If you get that 331 combo worked out, you will see more power with a prochamber or...

    Mac Prochamber=GAY

Pro chamber is gay??? The prochamber is one of the best performing mid pipes available. I have one on my car and love it. I run Mac 1 5/8 longtubes to the prochamber and then to mac flowpath cat back with 3 1/2 inch tips. It is quieter than an H-pipe. It's designed more like an X-pipe than an...

Those with long tubes, come in

92's have the mini starter already. No problems with Mac long tubes on my 92 LX

Too Much Fuel = Surging Idle/stalling???

My car does the same. I believe the FTI cam is the culprit. The factory programming in the PCM doesn't get along with the current engine combo. Once the computer goes into closed loop , my car runs great. It looks like the only fix is a PMS or Tweecer.

    Mac Long Tube Headers/Problems???

I have Mac 1 5/8 longtubes on mine with the pro-chamber mid pipe. Only needed a little convincing to get to fit. So far it's been problem free and sounds great. If they are new, I would send them back and get a new set. I've had to send some things back to Mac before and they work with you...

Disconnecting steering shaft for Mac longtubes

Good luck. I've got the 1 5/8 Mac longtubes and had steering shaft clearance issues. Removing the shaft is not a huge deal unless it's frozen up. I had to grind the shaft narrower by the header and shim my steering column in the car to change the shaft angle so the header didn't rub the steering...

Can a CAI be too big???

Hey all. I have a 92 LX with a HCI 302. I am currently running an Anderson Ford Motorsport 4" Power pipe with a 80mm Pro-M Maf to a 70mm T-body. My question is, can there be too big of an intake pipe that it will hurt performance??? Everyone I talk to debates whether it will hurt intake...

After FTI h/c/i swap...I have a burning smell when get around 3500+ rpm during WOT...

I get a similar smell when on the gas pretty hard for a prolonged time, like getting on x-way. Then goes away. I was thinking it was an exhaust leak that only shows up under heavier accel but it doesn't smell like exhaust. I'm beginning to think it is my long tube headers heating up and...

AFR or FTI users - Performer or Performer RPM for FTI combo?

yep. if the intake side is ok, the exhuast should be fine also. I just did it for a piece of mind.

AFR or FTI users - Performer or Performer RPM for FTI combo?

Yep, that would be the correct way. I checked open and closing nubers for both the intake and exhaust lobes. thats a nice set of instructions.

AFR or FTI users - Performer or Performer RPM for FTI combo?

Thanks for the follow up. Good to see he still recommends the performer. Thought maybe that was only for 1994-95 cars. Have it on my 92 LX and works great. As far as degreeing the cam, make sure not to use to intake centerline method, do it by the .050" valve tappet lift specs. Like I said...

AFR or FTI users - Performer or Performer RPM for FTI combo?

you don't need a solid lifter to degree the cam, you don't need a pushrod either unless the heads are on. set the dial indicator on the edge of the lifter with the head off #1 cylinder and do it that way. The only thing you need an adjustable pushrod for is to get the best rocker arm to valve...

Yes I degreed the cam. Had to advance it 4 degrees to get it right. Good luck....

AFR or FTI users - Performer or Performer RPM for FTI combo?

Hey all. I just finished my FTI-AFR 165 engine build a little over a month ago. My car is a 1992 LX Hatchback with a 5 speed. ED told me to run a regular Performer intake on my car. I thought that was odd but thats what he said. I think it has something to do with intake velocity that matches...
