    It's definitely full. It seems like more of an adjustment thing. It's like the top is too flat, so the hydraulics are pulling straight back, instead of up. I just need to flip it up just slightly and then all is well. Going the other way, when it gets to this point, it's like the top loses...

    When push button to retract the top it tries really hard to retract, but can't get pas flipping up the front of the top. I have to give it a little push up, and then all is well. The top has no trouble going the other way. Any ideas?

    I'm guessing that you won't find a coupe roof reproduction panel, as the coupes aren't that popular. Ebay might be your best bet, or if you can get horseballz' friend to cut his off and ship it to you.

    If you disconnect your coil wire and still have the same problem, I'd say it's not the timing. BTW, you turn the distributor clockwise to retard the timing.

    This will also happen if your ignition timing is too far advanced. Check this first.

    Patching the rear apron isn't a terrible repair. If the rest of the apron is fine, that's what I'd do. I would not replace the shock tower and all unless there were other significant problems.

    They wanted $600, but that was without axles. I was searching for that rear end yesterday. I remember Ford Racing selling that rear for like $800, but that was 5 or 6 years ago. Edit: I did find that one yesterday. It's for '05 and up. What needs to be done to make it fit a '91?

    If it's just the axles and outer bearings, I probably rather do that work myself. If it's the inner bearings too, I think I should replace the 2.73 gears with 3.55s at the same time. I think the shop is going to kill me on parts if I have them do it all.

    Yes, that was my impression as well. They did say that, more often than not, the axles do go bad with the bearings.

    They put it on a lift and say they're making noise. The shop has done a lot of work for me in the past. They're not cheap, but I do mostly trust them.
