pcv catch can package for oil consumption through pcv

I was just about to say that. I just got back from Canadian Tire and looked at the same version you have. It said right on the glass "do not use with synthetic oil". Our Walmart up here didn't have anything like that.

pcv catch can package for oil consumption through pcv

Well, half a quart in 500 km's is a fair amount wouldn't you say? That only includes 4 runs down the track and a little horsing around on the street. Why wouldn't you reuse that oil. It's just clean fully synthetic oil getting sucked away by the intake to be burned off anyway. Thanks for...

pcv catch can package for oil consumption through pcv

How long would it take for one of those filters to become clogged and stop the pcv system from breathing properly ? At least with this catchcan, being 2 1/2" in diameter and almost 6"s high I could recover some of that expensive oil I use to put back into the oil filler cap to be used again...

pcv catch can package for oil consumption through pcv

I tried a small piece of tin with holes punched in it placed in front of my pcv valve to see if it would help stop the pcv from sucking up oil. Well, after 400 miles including 1 trip to the track the oil still went down 1/2 a quart on my dipstick. I found this catchcan package and was wondering...

    yesterdays track results. :notnice:

Saturday and Sunday were event days for the OCSA. I was just speaking to one of the competitors and he said the air was bad on Saturday. He also mentioned he gained 2-3 mph on his trap speeds on the Sunday. He ran and won the 12.90 bracket. I noticed his ET's were down on Saturday as well...

    yesterdays track results. :notnice:

This was my best run : R/T .177 60' 2.209 330 5.938 1/8 9.021 MPH 81.10 1000 11.622 1/4 13.822 MPH 102.83 I should be trapping at LEAST 107 mph Maybe I should try a few runs at St Thomas Dragway to see what happens. It was a warm day and I know warm air with a falling barometer...

    yesterdays track results. :notnice:

Thanks for the info. I suppose one way to really know would be to go to St Thomas dragway where I achieved my best times last year and try it at the same time of year when the air is dry to see what my times are like there. It was late August so there was little humidity and the cool fall...

    yesterdays track results. :notnice:

Do you consider heads, cam and intake as bolt-ons? I've always considered things like CAI, pullies, perhaps intake as bolt-ons, but once you touch oil I considered it to be internal engine work. I can't understand why my trap speeds were so low. I guess if I look at it as an improvement at...

    yesterdays track results. :notnice:

I'm familiar with this fellow that owns the Camaro, and I followed through on all his info as he did the heads and cam. He's definitely making close to 400 rwhp (396'ish). He has 342 gears which are suppose to be the perfect gears for his setup. I only raced him twice and like I mentioned he...

    yesterdays track results. :notnice:

Yesterday at Toronto Motorsports Park the best I could muster were 13.8's. Is St Thomas faster track than TMP or what ? Last year I pulled 13.6's at 104.6 MPH with 2.2 60 ft's and that was when I was running rich, no pullies, no aftermarket shifter and no tune. Yesterday I was running...

    Custom Chip

I had a custom dyno tuned Autologic chip done and I also just passed an emissions test today. The chip wasn't even programmed for emissions but rather for performance, but it still passed. It was $650 for the chip including 2 hours of dyno tuning time.

How many quarts of oil do you use?

My car uses oil and I'm 99.999% sure the PCV is sucking it into the intake. I've done a compression test and it's not the valves and there are no leaks. In regards to quantity for an oil change, my last oil change the car used a little more than 5 litres but that was probably due to the K&N...

    Tri-Ax or Pro 5.0 ....

I have the Hurst Billet shifter and it feels good. No complaints here either. I've tried both the 5.0 and Tri-Ax shifters just while sitting in the cars and I couldn't notice any differences. They both felt good though.

Finally! AFR/FTI Dyno AND Track Results are In

Wow !! Impressive numbers. Congrats ! You must be happy ! It looks like your AF is closer to 13.7 which is where mine was tuned for. Bob Kennedy said he always gets the safest and best power at 13.7:1 for NA setups . I questioned him on that and stated that I had always read that 13.1 was...

    fastest stock blocked N/a 94-95 vs 96-98

I wouldn't say they can run 11 easily, nor would I say there are a lot of those cars out there. A friend of mine has a 96. He went with Fox Lake aluminum ported PI's, Bullit intake full exhaust, all the rest of the needed supporting parts etc etc and he's making 270 rwhp and around 300 torque...

    I HATE MY CAR

I'm having the oil through the intake issue as well. Most people with aftermarket intakes are having the same issues. I've found that by not down shifting and by engaging the clutch at anytime I feel the car is being slown down by the engine, that my oil consumption has drastically reduced. As...
