    I have mine right where the cold air intake enters the fenderwell, just behind that tube towards the firewall. It's still far away enough from the headers to stay away from heat. It's mounted lengthwise vertically. It's immediately behind the MAF and I have the BBK CAI.

    Look at it closely and use a flashlight if necessary. Sometimes breaks can be tricky to catch visually depending at which angle you're looking or if it's broken on the inside closer to the body. I hear you about the quality etc. but they do break. It's not uncommon.

    I assume you guys actually checked the springs themselves ? If the spring is broken it will make those types of sounds, especially if the broken end of the spring is rubbing on any part of the body.

    You may want to check the laws in your state. In some states and provinces dumps are illegal. I can tell you that they're illegal in Ontario. Yes, if you have any open areas in your underbody, fumes will enter the cabin area of your car. Just something to think about.

    I suppose if I was start my engine again I would have gone with a custom grind. If I go with a custom grind next year and I don't see any improvements or just slight improvements I'll really be kicking myself in the a$$ !!
