    fastforward fastback

    Well, since the Bezles are normally used to attatch the tailight housing to the body, i would imagine that they filled the gaps and stud holse as rent said, and then either "glued" the housing to the tailight pannel, or integrated studs into the pannel. It is a very clean look.
