Do I need a Friction Modifier in my differential

I want to change the fluid and plan to use Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90. Do I need to add anything?

    MIL Tech Question

The rear O2's or MIL's wouldn't effect how rich or lean the engine is but the lack of Cats sure would. That's a big drop in back pressure.

    No coolant circulation 99 cobra

Here's something I found on another site. When the engine is cold, locate the highest point in the system and fill it with water. I have the 4 valve Cobra discussed below, with the cap in the crossover pipe. ************************ Air locks in the cooling system are becoming increasingly...

    No coolant circulation 99 cobra

It's my understanding these cars cooling systems have to be bled when they're refilled. Not quite clear on how.

    Blown a plug

I've never had a plug come out on me. Plugs are specifically made not to seize but the problem is, there not recommended for change for a decade and over so many years the plugs and threads become one. Copper plugs give better performance than the platinums they just don't last as long. Change...

    Blown a plug

I'll add my 2 cents. Don't use any anti-seize. Just use copper plugs for a buck and change each and change them once a year very carefully on a stone cold engine. Torque them to 13 lb/ft. If you're nervous, retorque after a thousand. I never understood the concept of lubing something that has...

    Holding the engine up

You can support it from above using a hoist or "across the fenders" engine support.

    Taking off steering shack

No offense meant. Sorry if it came across that way. If someone jacked their car up and removed the bolts for the K member, they would be holding up the engine with their chest. You must admit, the description above is a bit simplified. The average backyard spark plug changer wouldn't...

    Taking off steering shack

I'm not trying to come across as a smart ass or anything but it seems to me it will take a ton more mechanical expertise to remove and replace a K member and headers than it does to remove the steering rack. Are you sure you're ready for this?

H&R Sport spring, anyone have them?

Installed the H&R sport fronts on my '01 Cobra today. The rears will probably come next weekend. From what I've read, the drop is as they say it is. I did take measurements front and rear before putting it on the stands. I'll post when I'm done.

What do I need to buy..

Thanks Flghtmstr1. I'm only doing a Saturday night cruiser. No racing so that should do it for me.

What do I need to buy..

...besides the 4.10s to complete a gear job? I see installation kits of variable sizes. Will the standard do? There's only 48k on my car. I want to use Royal Purple lube. Do I need friction modifier?

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wheel loose

If you look at the hub on your car, it has a ring that protrudes out in the center. The wheel has a recess that receives the ring and centers the wheel and supports it so it doesn't have to rely on the lug nuts to center and hold the wheel in place. If you do rely on the lugs and don't have...

    Alignment with bumpsteer kit

I can only give info on what I've done. If it's only an 1.5" drop, you won't need ball joints to adjust bumpsteer. Right there's a good savings. With just tie rod ends, I can adjust the bumpsteer between toeing in and toeing out. The perfect adjustment is between those two points, no ball...

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wheel loose

I agree they should be hubcentric but with 100 lb/ft of torque, I don't think you would be able to move them by hand. They would then become lug centric, not as safe but usable.
