What gasket did Ed port them to? Or What gasket does Ed recommend running with those heads?

Head Swap Build Thread: And other Improvements

I put a bead of RTV around the coolant port and two dabs in the middle flat area. Then lay the gasket in place and set the lower intake on. I put a few bolts in the intake to the block lightly (just to put some light even pressure on the gasket). Let it sit for a few hours or overnight...

Progress Thread We're Back And With A New Project. Build Thread!

I decided to go with bullitt springs and shocks/struts. UPR rear U/L arms, 03 cobra front A-arms, and full length sub frames. 1. Cheap setup 2. lowered the car 1/5-3/4 3. Easy to get replacement parts for 4. Seems to be a decent road handling setup and with a dis-connect of the sway able to...

yeah, kinda at a crossroads/restless. Probably the best advise.

    mulling idea of change...

I have beat on mine...launching on a 125 shot at the track. Powershifting the thing for years, driving on DR also. As much as I would like a turbo...every time I think I really want one...I think about all the work to actually get there when I have the power right now with the bottle. But it...

    mulling idea of change...

I am just afraid to break it "right now". I plan on getting a astro/g-force super alloy t5 kit. If I dont sell the kit I will eventually use it again. Its a 100% toy I daily either a 09 Fusion or 01 ZX2.

    mulling idea of change...

I have been thinking about changing the setup around. Sell my n2o setup that I have not used in years but on and tested in working order (afraid to break the factory t5 right now). Bottle has been in the spare bedroom for 6yrs. My n2o setup is a compucar wet kit including compucar...

Are they new springs? As in have they had a chance to settle? Also if I have the front sway bar/end links off my front seems about 1/2-3/4 inches higher. One time in the garage I stepped back when one side of the swaybar was attached and the other loose and it looked like I was parked on a...

I think in MO this is legal, I know you can have a loaded firearm within reach hidden or in the open (IIRC). I just dont know if there is a min. distance. The law was changed a few years ago when they enacted the castle law/doctrine and included automobiles to discourage carjacking. You don't...

Head Swap Build Thread: And other Improvements

I agree the pattern looks good to go. I don't know how much for stud mount this matters but with a solid lifter you need to remember to add some to the PR length to make up for the missing pre-load. How thick is the clay from the deepest part of the valve impression to the piston?

Head Swap Build Thread: And other Improvements

If the PR is in fact too short then give the adj checker a 1/4 turn and go threw the cycle again. Its a repeated process until you get the line centered and travel pattern as narrow as possible. It could also be helpful to bring the cam to mid lift and see were the contact patch is. It will...

Head Swap Build Thread: And other Improvements

I think the the pattern is a tad too wide like said but when you get the length sorted out the line should narrow out a little. The patch is wide as the rocker roller is traveling across the valve head instead of pushing the valve down. This is why you look for a centered narrow contact...

    1995 GT dyno numbers

50shot anyone... I highly doubt the 290 figure on E7's....maybe...maybe if they were well ported with a cam and had a bump in the compression and a dead on tune.

Question about Torq Thrust II's rims

I have no idea what backspacing mine are. I picked them up second hand from a local guy who traded in his mustang and sold the rims separate. I do know they are 17x9.5 in front and 17x11 in rear. One thing to note about the TTII's rims (the actual ARE TTII's and not the "bullitt" ones) is...

    Joined a gym

I wrestled from 6-7 to 16 I just lost interest and burned out from it. Talk about a good all around exercise though. Couple of buddies got into martial arts and they were shocked at how well the fundamentals/motions of wrestling on some points would be close to fighting martial arts...at least...

Head Swap Build Thread: And other Improvements

I just followed the sequence listed in the manual. But instead of the Torq to yield portion (last step) I went to the old non-torq to yield manual spec...it was something between 90-120ft lbs but its been so long I forgot. It would not hurt to call TFS and see what they recommend since...

It has put a bad spin on the last two vacations. Went to Vegas in Feb and after walking a few hundred yards it felt like someone was hitting my ankle with a hammer...and all you do in Vegas is walk damn near. Then a month after Vegas I went on my annual snowboard trip to CO and was in tears by...
