Took her for a spin for the first time in 4 years! What a BEAST!

Too true. heh, good one. :D It reminds me of one of the forum members' signatures, something along the lines of having to replace your entire wheel and brake setup for want of a $350 spindle, and that making perfect sense to the rest of the users on the forum. Looks like a JMC will...

Took her for a spin for the first time in 4 years! What a BEAST!

Big piece of the puzzle solved, thanks! THANKS! I just spent the last 15 minutes on stangnet and vintage-mustang looking up all your posts - heh, should have looked first, asked the question after - but I didn't see anything on the headers you were using. If I had to make a guess from...

Took her for a spin for the first time in 4 years! What a BEAST!

68efi, what headers did you use with your Steeroids rack? I'm going the 351w stroker route since I have a bigger, heavier, later model year and I know header selection can be iffy with Steeroids. Hopefully they make a 351w version of your headers . . .

Estimate on cost of changing to 5 speed

Don't forget the cost of gas! I remember getting about 12-14mpg on the car back in high school with a 302-2v and a C-4. In a recent long distance drive that I plotted out on Google Maps (not using the speedo) I got close to 25, but I was babying it. The point is - don't underestimate the gas...

The Wilwood Superlite Brake Kit Thread

I still have my e-brake brackets - I assume you are referring to these - http://gallery.mac.com/jbauder#100048/P1010587&bgcolor=black but looks like I won't need them. I haven't even dug into the box of parts for the rear yet. The Lokar kit looks like it's for a floor-mounted e-brake, but are...

The Wilwood Superlite Brake Kit Thread

Wilwood 6 piston fronts being done now Sorry I didn't notice the replies. Been busy here! Got the 6 piston fronts with polished calipers. They look nice! :nice: Currie rear is backordered because TrueTrac diff won't be available until August 1. So, right now, I'm having installed: -TCP...

    Rearend Swap info - FAQ

65shelby, that makes sense. What threw me off is this quote from the Kevinstang site. Reading it, it is easy to get the impression that he is talking about spring perch distance here on different year Mustangs, but what he is really taking about is Fairlane vs. Mustang. It stands to reason...

    Rearend Swap info - FAQ

Spring perch distance the same for '65-66, 67-70, 71-73? Hey all, Just ordered my crate 9" from Currie and they claim the spring perch distance is the same for '65-66, '67-70, and '71-73, but I see on other sites that it is different - 52" for 65-66, 54" for '67-70. Reason I'm wondering...

    G-Bar rear exhaust photo

That looks really good. I would consider something like it for my EvM 3-Link, but it would probably have to go under the cradle, bringing it pretty low to the ground and visible from the side. I might be able to send it over the lowest bar in the cradle that is next to the stabar, but it's...

Mustangsteve - anyone placed an order recently? Ballbearing kit MIA

or just let it die and fall to the bottom since I can't seem to delete it. I trust that he will ship the product, as I pointed out, and that I was just being impatient.

The Wilwood Superlite Brake Kit Thread

Well, I bit the bullet and two pieces are falling into place - the Currie rear and now the Wilwood Superlite kit. Ordered them both today. I went with TCP, as they were able to custom order it with a polished caliper and slotted "GT" rotors, so if you're looking for a custom kit, they'll do...

Mustangsteve - anyone placed an order recently? Ballbearing kit MIA

Forgot he had a forum he got back to me by the end of the day - nice prompt reply, rare-to-unheard-of in the mustang aftermarket! :D somehow the order shows on my end as completed with PayPal but he didn't get anything, I'm sure it will get resolved. I was just being impatient and expecting...

    Torsional rigidity test: 67 coupe

01ragtop, thanks for going and bending a piece of tube just for the idea, hope you didn't go to a lot of trouble and hope you can use that tube for something! I do have a MC bar and a Boss 302-style crossmember and, after the engine is installed, plan to go with either a Maier-style export...

    Torsional rigidity test: 67 coupe

Extremely ugly/quickly drawn proposed SN65+Reen combo Hey all, Please critique the attached (ugly, crudely drawn) image. The shock tower outer cover/spring cover would be a thicker material than stock. The tube drawn in red would go straight through the shock tower and would most likely...

    Torsional rigidity test: 67 coupe

5 point harness grocery getter that was a :rlaugh: good one. I'm not advocating taking anything away from the front structure, just adding to it. The crush zone shouldn't really be affected at all, or would be strengthened. I guess there is a slight worry about having a metal tube enter...

    Torsional rigidity test: 67 coupe

great suggestions, all bnickel, you always have astute observations and great suggestions, thanks. I think you might be right about that ring. I could see how it could pull away from the bolts and shear them off. I think you can see what I was trying to do, though - get something in there to...

    Torsional rigidity test: 67 coupe

Modification to Reenmachine-style front subframe tube reinforcement that goes over shock tower - integrate it into the TCP upper spring mount ring, if you have TCP! Basically, where Reen has it straight through his shock tower elimination, you would curve around the TCP coilover but run...

The Wilwood Superlite Brake Kit Thread

Got TCP upper arms today side note . . . amazingly, they shipped me the ones that matched the "pebbled" or "dimpled" powdercoated silver and black from my UP coilovers. I was assuming they would be TCP blue. Accident or are they really that much of a class act? Big points for professionalism...

The Wilwood Superlite Brake Kit Thread

valley, looking good! Do they have a 12.19/2" kit available in the GT rotors that are slotted only? If so, I'd probably go with it on the rear - why add more unsprung weight to the rear brakes where it's not needed? What wheels did you go with? (I am hoping Coy's C-67 like mine, as I see you...
