Three words you never want to hear...unless you are a mechanic

Does the car run like crap? Is there coolant in the oil? Is there oil in the coolant? Only thing I was asking is that I didn't see you complain about how the engine was running just oil on the block. Maybe I'm wrong but I have never seen a blown head gasket cause oil on the engine. It usually...

Three words you never want to hear...unless you are a mechanic

I would not change the stock head gasket until you need to. There are plenty of people who use the stock head gasket for high boost applications. I wouldn't worry about it. TOADSTANG besides the shop telling you you have a blown head gasket what are your symptoms. The only thing I saw you...

Here is the killer job i did

Looks great. But what are you doing for a hood to direct air to the intercooler? Let me guess you're grafting the Tbird scoops onto the Mustang hood. A buddy of mine did that to his GT back in the early 90's and it looks good.

If he is a member of the Better Business Bureau give them a call and show them the emails. But by looking at his responses I doubt he is.

255lph, Has this ever been done?

Shouldn't be a problem if your regulator is in operating condition. I ran my stock one for a few months with no problems and changed it only because I thought it would fix a problem I was having. The only reason for the adjustable is so you can add more pressure when you do modifications or to...

GRRR! Just put motor back together, bad ticking.

Actually with the 2.3 lash adjusters(lifters) you have to collapse them before reinstalling. You have to put them in a vice or a big c clamp a force the oil out of them. When it is ticking take off the oil filler cap and see if the noise gets louder. If it does it is valvetrain noise.

GRRR! Just put motor back together, bad ticking.

You should not have to shim the lifters with a Motorsport cam(probably an A237) . Valve stem height is critacal in these engines if the machinist has th height to low they will need to be shimmed. However it should tick at startup if there is a problem with valve geometry. Possible bad lifter...

    SVO Wiering harness

Get rid of the stock alternator and voltage reg. I put a 3g on and love it.The harness is svo specific. You would need a harness from an older Mustang and it would probably be just as crappy. I wound up replacing quite a bit of wiring on my car by hacking off the bad parts and splicing on...

GRRR! Just put motor back together, bad ticking.

It is most likely valvetrain noise. If it was your bottom end it would probably tick worse with a load on it. What cam are you using? If it is a regrind of somesort or the base circe is not at stock specs the lifters may need to be shimmed. Did your machine shop set up the head with the cam...

Officially gave up on Advance Auto Parts yesterday....

Yeah it is hit or miss with getting someone who knows what they are doing. At the same time I hear some people asking for parts who are complete morons. How and the hell do people expect to get the right part if they don't even know the year or engine size of their vehicle. Yesterday I overheard...

    over drive on manual trans?

When you stomp on the accelerator in an automatic the transmission downshifts into a LOWER gear. So if you are in OD(4 gear) in an auto and you stomp on the gas, depending on what speed you are going, the transmission downshifts into 2 or 3 gear. If you want to acomplish the same thing in a...

Will the T5 from a 5.o work in the 2.3 turbo?

Its not the diameter of the input shaft, it is the diameter at the tip of the shaft that goes into the pilot bearing. I put a V8 box in my bone stock 84 SVO with the stock rear gears and was not happy with it because it would not take off as quick. But now that I have modified my motor and put...

Uh oh, Time for a new Rack&Pinion and PS Pump??

I would defiantely change the pump also for cheap insurance I think they are only like $30 or so. And it would be a good idea to flush all the lines after the install by leaving the return line off the pump and pumping fluid into a pan until it looks clean.

    New thermostat new problems

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question248.htm quote from the website "If you ever have the chance to test one, a thermostat is an amazing thing to watch because what they do seems impossible.
