Clutch Cable (3rd one gone bad)

maximum motorsports carries ford cables i believe. I just picked one up from them. Huge difference in how light the clutch is. I would give them a call.

    Another Differential ?

well this is a very biased thing to say. How often do you drive your car on the highway? Is this your DD? Also how fast are you going when you are taching 2700...right at 70mph!! HAHA thats ridiculous! I understand steep gears are fun....but you have to go slow as hell on the highway. If i...

    Weird pulse, only in 5th....

My car does the same thing. Once i get to about 80-85mph in 5th it will start this light harmonic hum. I have a new balanced DS and a balanced motor with a new harmonic balancer. I chalk it up to the 165k stock T-5. Rear control arm bushings are a good idea. i will be adressing this problem...

    let's talk clutches

Perhaps you should start a thread over at turbomustangs.com as they will have more experience with big power mustangs. dont see many 600+rwhp cars over here. FWIW the twin disc setups look/appear to be very streetable.

    IM GOING TURBO

Millhouse's setup is legit...DIY twin setups can be very effective. Using those two small turbos on a V8 car must make for one hell of a torque curve and almost non-existent lag. Must be a fun street car. Everyone has their own vision for their car...most of us just cant justify something...

    Smog Delete

You will have a KAM error code...IIRC it will be 81. There is some sort of resistor fix/hack job you can do to eliminate that code. Should have no ill effects on the car though.

    need help with wheel choice

gotta love the dished rim on an LX....just something about that lip that sets off the look of a LX Notch/Hatch! I say get em...they will look nicer than the roushes IMO.

Fun to drive car less than 10,000 ?

I absolutely agree that FWD cars are easier to drive in the snow...and 25th is right...most FWD cars have skinny tires and most RWD cars have wider tires. However the Original Poster wants a FUN CAR that is also good in the snow. Which brings us to the point that 25th and I are trying to...

    let's talk clutches

I have heard good things about the DFX clutches...Centerforce makes a good clutch. I run a spec stage II in my car right now and i love the feel! I am running a steeda AL quadrant with an OEM ford cable, firewall adjuster and the stage II clutch. The clutch action is so precise, its almost...

Fun to drive car less than 10,000 ?

hahaha lack of experience huh...maybe NJ gets a little bit of snow but thats nothing like upstate NY, central MA, and northern Maine....the places i live(d). I think i probably had more deep snow driving experience while i had my permit than you have had your whole life in NJ. RWD with good...

    Have you seen this?

I think thats one of the nastiest looking foxes i have ever seen. I love something different like that. The flares look insane! The wheels/tires might be a little too wide for my taste...but im sure there is more to that car than meets the eye! Tail of the dragon is an insane section of...

Spec Stage 5 Clutch Yes or No

Spec stage 5 clutch is meant to be used as a slipper type clutch....torque rating of 1100 ft-lbs. What kind of combo are you running?

    IM GOING TURBO

I agree with both 25th and millhouse that those magazine buildups are normally atypical. I feel like 400rwhp on a stock longblock at 10psi is easily attainable. Restrictive chambered muffs on a turbo car are definitely worth 30-40rwhp on an application like this. I have been tuning my own...

'AOD" high Stall Torque Converter vs. Stock

well that is the nature of a converter. You are spinning the motor up to get the car to start moving. Granted a 2.2k converter is nothing dramatic...it is considerably higher than a stocker. What brand converter is it? lock up vs non-lockup? Generally the OTS converters are junk compared to...

Fun to drive car less than 10,000 ?

I agree with 25th...the tires will make or break a winter car. I dont know who said it earlier that thinks RWD is way worse than FWD...its not at all. Personally i hate driving fwd cars in the snow. There's nothing worse than a understeering non LSD front wheel drive car! This year i have to...

    ball joints

I dont think your centering problems have anything to do with the struts. Even beat up stockers with 200k on them should still spin/rotate easily. I would wait for the results of the PS pump change...then re-test/diagnose from there.

    347 + power adders

a mild 347 (depending on the rest of the combo) with 6-7 psi will be fine. You are probably looking at 450-475rwhp with a setup like that. If you have a conservative tune, head STUDS (not bolts) and good head gaskets you'll be alright.

How much is it puttin down?

I would say in the range of 225-235.....even if the heads are stock. You have long tubes, intake and cam/rockers in terms of power increasers....each of which probably worth about 10 rwhp. So that puts you around 230rwhp. Heads are really holding you back. Even a set of gt-40 irons or...

350+ dyno proven hp. post up!

LOL...well sure it can be done...but at what cost. Not only would it be expensive....but a motor like that would most likely have poor street performance/driveability...and a terrible powerband. A stock 302 bottom end would make it even harder. To make 350+rwhp with a stock bottom end would...

350+ dyno proven hp. post up!

350 should be pretty easy to do with either a good stroker HCI or an HCI 302 with a blower/turbo.
