This is kind of a rant thread.
It seems every kind of part that i buy for the stang doesnt work correctly. Even when i buy them brand new never used. Heres a list of what has been defective even though everything was purchased brand new.
Autometer tach- installed and nothing happend. Had to...
I must be the only person here who doesnt care for magnaflows...?
To me, it doesnt sound like a 5.0 should at all, and i dont care for the tips..
but thats just my opinion, and i run flowmaster super 44's.
Anyone have the mickey thompson et street radials in this size?
My problem is that i have draglites with 4.5" backspacing so i cannot fit a bigger tire like a 275/50/15 on, or it will stick out past the fender. That is definately not what i like. I also dont want to go to a 28" tall tire, and...
Call edge racing converters. They will set you up with a perfect one for your combo. They are on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for with converters.

yea i dont know that its overheating, but five minutes after a cold start and you cant even touch it. I dont ever remember my stock one being this hot, or the alt on my truck, or anything.
The volt guage checks out fine, over half way mark. I really dont want to even drive it because im afraid i will cook this alternator. I bet thats how my first one went out too. Why does my car overheat alternators!?!?
ttt... man im starting to think its my second bad alternator in a row. That or something is wrong with my car! I let it idle up to temp and you cant put your hand on the case for more than couple seconds. Im positive my wiring is right, i added the extra ground from the block to the...
Ok, i added another engine ground. Even if its not needed, it wont hurt anything. The alternator must be good because it came with a test sheet and everything, plus this is my second one. Maybe its supposed to get that warm and i over reacted lol.
Thats a bit ridiculous. I thought headers for my old GN were expensive. A good quality aftermarket set for a GN will run $700+. Thats the reason i love the fox mustang, parts are so cheap and available!
Ok i think i figured it out. The ground that i need is another engine ground. I was thinking there was some ground wire coming off of the alternator that i missed.
So i will run another engine ground and see what happens.
I dont think its grounded at all actually...
Where should the ground wire be at?
When i took the stock alt off, i dont remember it having a seperate ground wire either?
Anyone have a picture i could look at?
thanks
