    3g altenaotr install questions

I'm running a 130A 3G and I think I read somewhere that it outputs constant 75-80A with a peak of 130a. So a 120 will not be overkill.

    Motor Mount Replacement

OK so I FINALLY figured out my motor mounts are toast. Someone suggested checking the fan clearance to the bottom of the shroud. Well there was no clearance...in fact there was negitive clearance. The tips of my fan blades are gone from rubbing on the shroud, neat huh? :notnice: Anyway so I have...

    Who sells iac adjustment plates?

Hrmm...the plate works fine. I think you may have had it misadjusted if your idle RPM was up to 1500. If you run the plate with the adjustment screws all the way closed you shouldnt see any difference from an IAC without the plate. There are two screws, one on top and one on bottom. Mine works...

    Bad lower gt40 intake

The first time I took my lower intake off (GT40 that came with the car) I about threw it through a window. It would not mate to the heads for anything. There was a huge gap at the front and rear of the intake, way to big to fill with RTV. I couldnt understand what was going on until I looked in...

Can't advance timing! Hits t-stat housing?

There are a few different ways to set your TDC. I prefer to pull the #1 plug and stick a dowel into the hole. Rotate your crank until you've reached the top of your stroke (the dowel will raise and begin to fall again). You are at TDC now. Replace your plug and then stab your distributor as...

Can't advance timing! Hits t-stat housing?

Well Hissin used the term "index" twice and was referring to two different things. When he was referring to your balancer is was saying to making sure your balancer's timing marks were correctly oriented. When the seal on it wears and breaks down the outer half (the part with the timing marks)...

Can't advance timing! Hits t-stat housing?

TheBocSez is correct. Unbolt your distrubutor, pull it, set your #1 to TDC, and the re-stab your dist. into its "stock" orientation (Pointing to #5-6 pistons). That way you KNOW your not off a tooth. You shouldnt have to twist your dist. that far to get to 18deg. If I had mine twisted that far I...

    Horrid Gas Mileage

So it sounds like your saying don't worry about it and just fix what I know it wrong. I guess once I get the MAF straightened out the fuel problem may fix itself. I was reading another post you made in a different thread about vac leaks. You stated that you can actually lose vacuum through your...

    Horrid Gas Mileage

Good god...I went to check out Air/Fuel handsets and they run anywhere from 200-500 bucks! :jaw: The stupid part is you can get an Air/Fuel Autometer gauge for $30...:nonono: Should I just run the car down to a shop and have the check the mixture?

    Horrid Gas Mileage

ugh...so much information  I printed that post out for later review :D So I would assume that since my MAF is offline that Im running in limp mode? Come to think of it I tried to unplug my MAF while the car ran just to see if I got a responce and nothing changed. I'll have to test it this...
