    90 GT vibration

Can someone post up a good way to test for tailshaft end play/bad u-joints? Just jack it up and start reefing on the driveshaft to see if it moves? Is a little play ok? Should there be no play at all?

    Horrid Gas Mileage

Well I finally started to drive my car again after months of sitting at my buddies place. We pulled the upper and lower intake for a gasket change and I also repaired a vac leak at the IAC valve. Well my car has always run rich but after we got done messing with the car I am getting horrible gas...

Help me create the "Surging Idle Checklist"

This isn't in responce to a particular post but I thought I would throw it in for users of the IAC adjustment plate. I've had a vac leak for a LONG time that i could not track down. When I got the car the previous owner had installed the adjuster plate. When I had a vac line fail (before I knew...

    3G alt Problem

So how does the voltage drop work? Do I turn have a buddy start the car while I check it at the battery terminal? And as for the regulator, shouldnt it either work or not work? It seems odd to me that it works fine and higher RPM and only has issues below 1000rpm...if it was a bad regulator it...

    3G alt Problem

Well I have been taking reading with a multi-meter at the battery and getting 14.3-14.4 at startup. As for the crappy stock gauge I was just using that for reference...the real issue is the dimming/pulsing head lights and the choppy idle when it gets to low. My point is I shouldnt be seeing any...

    3G alt Problem

Ok I installed a 3G a year and a half ago. I have read almost every write up on the subject that could. Followed every step to the letter. Heres my problem. When I start the car it charges great...about 2-3 bars above the "charging" hash. As I drive the car the needle slowly drops until...

Can i run straight pipes? and just cut out mufflers?

Straight pipes FTL :notnice: EVERY set up I've ever heard with straights sounded like farm equipment. Is your X on O/R pipe? If not thats what I would suggest. Otherwise go with a Spintech or Magnapack setup...they are deffinitly NOT quiet :D What ever you do make sure you use mufflers, they are...

    Exhaust leak fix?

RTV wont hard seal. It should come apart easy enough. Either pull it apart or just run a razor knife around the seal. I wouldnt recommend asbestos...can you even get that stuff anymore? :EDIT: Now that I think about it I dont know if RTV would hold up against the pressure of the...

    mac's versus magnaflows

This was taken with a stupid digi cam so the quality sucks but its a good indication of the idle sound of the magnaflows (with an o/r H)...the revs just sound like white noise on that little speaker though :nonono: http://www.geocities.com/skoobie0000/Exhaustaudio.avi

    mac's versus magnaflows

I went from Flows to Magnaflows. Manga has a much smoother tone and are pretty quiet at idle. They really open up when you get on the RPM's though. Also they are a straight through design so they help free up a bit of HP. My vote is for MF.
