I run that combo, no problems with the stock valve springs so far, going to switch to a Comp cam and upgrade the valve springs soon, I needed longer pushrods as well, some P head users do and some dont, wont know until you install the rockers
Look at the other XE270HR that has 112 lsa rather than 114, would be better suited with a NA carb setup, thats what Im going with, I like the Comp XE line, compare the advertised to .050 duration numbers and youll see that Comp has a more aggressive ramp than the others
Mine matched the 1250 on the top and 2 sides but not quite at the bottom, looks like your splitting the difference in the pic, you should be able to tell if someone gasket matched, you probably have the stock size ports

I moved the solenoid to the rear also, so the wire to the front is only live while starting, little more work but worth it IMO
I swapped to a 3G so I dont remember the colors, the one to the choke though is just for the choke nothing else, try it out, worse thing that will happen is it wont charge
I used the same shim and didnt have any endplay, but we are talking thousandths of an inch here, so manufacturing tolerances come into play, sounds like you need a different shim in your case, you can order a shim pack from http://www.hanlonmotorsports.com
No lie on helping with traction, I dropped .2 off my 60' by lowering the rear control arms (adjustables) ... then back up for street duty
They might be a good solution to your problem also
I have 87 doors on my 85, both had power windows/locks, the door harness plugged right in and worked, no splicing at all, not sure if your locks will work if the 83 didnt have them
Thats about right...my friend has a stock AOD coupe and ran about those times, he shaved .5 off just by icing the intake though for a best of 14.7, 4.10 gears and drag radials would do wonders for you
