    getting too hot!!!

Jason, yes there are two heat transfers going on here, I think that is part of where other people have gotten hung up. The fact that as the coolant is transferring its heat to the radiator, the coolant in the engine is absorbing heat and needs to get back to the radiator. Heat transfer from...

    getting too hot!!!

91Whitepony you said that you have problems on the freeway too? Then you are probably not looking for a fan problem unless you have a really built engine or really steep rear gears your cooling system should be able to keep up going down the freeway without engaging the fan clutch. You asked...

    getting too hot!!!

The above does apply but working 66 hours a week I don't think I'm gonna have the time to get those equations for you. I'll see what I can do. Basically this is what I was talking about when I said that thermal transfer takes place the quickest at greater temperature differentials. Say you...

    getting too hot!!!

Ok well maybe if you had studied three years hard at a college level you wouldn't have a problem in Mexico. Also no it won't cause an overheat, read a book or something. We covered this, the coolant does not sit in the radiator waiting to be "cooled" Without a thermostat a car with a...

    Help with broken bolt please

It's a tool, you drill out the center of the bolt and then depending on the type of easy out you twist it in (left hand thread) or tap it in with a hammer then turn out the remains of the bolt.

    Help with broken bolt please

Have you ever seen or used a 90 degree drill. That should get you your angle if you want to drill it and ez out it. I would suggest a left hand bit if you can find one, the bolt might just spin out once you start drilling it then.

    getting too hot!!!

Thank you, this is basically the point I was trying to make higher coolant flow is a good thing. Simply a stuck open thermostat would not result in an overheat it would however slow down your warmup time.

    getting too hot!!!

Yes the coolant returns in seconds! The flow capacity of your water pump is what?? Like 40 gallons per minute or something and your cooling system holds what 3 gallons? So without restriction you could cycle that coolant through the engine 13.3 times a minute with those numbers or that means...

    running sluggish

Do you have the old O2 sensors? You could put them back in and see if the problem goes away. You could have a bad new sensor out of the box that is screwing up your mixture. You could also just check the new ones to see if they are running in the right voltage range I don't know which would...

    Suspension Upgrades and Brakes Help

Agree with a lot of what SVT said but I would add to the list a panhard bar. I have many upgrades to my suspension and the one thing I can still feel under extreme cornering is the backend "pushes" I'm debating on a panhard or a whole different setup like one of the ones Steeda offers.

96 Gt what should I run in the 1/4

I was thinking the same thing. I don't think you should get him too pumped up I wouldn't doubt that in the middle of summer the best times he'll see will be mid to high 14's.

weird throttle or gas flow problem

When you say you couldn't get the TPS right I don't quite follow you, you set it by voltage. Are you saying that the voltage wouldn't stabilize while it sat at closed throttle? If so the TPS is bad or is there some other way that you are trying to set it?

    getting too hot!!!

Once again for those of you who need a lesson in cooling. Thermal transfer is most efficient at a high temperature differential (FACT). You are not attempting to cool a specific volume of coolant until it reaches outside temperature. You are attempting to absorb heat from the engine...

    getting too hot!!!

I think you're fogetting that the radiator is a closed loop circuit and that the coolant will return in a matter of seconds. Yes the longer it stays in the radiator the more THAT coolant will decrease in temperature while the coolant in the engine absorbs more heat. Your logic isn't too bad...

weird throttle or gas flow problem

I agree, not a fuel problem. You might also check your timing, might not be advanced enough to come off idle nice. Also what's your setup like? I've seen engines with too much induction on top of stock heads stumble a bit. They catch a big breath of air and the heads cause a bottleneck...

    getting too hot!!!

I'm saying that it is common knowledge that you can remove your stat and run your engine, assuming that you have no cooling problems before you do and you're engine will take a long time to warm up and never overheat. Common knowledge You know what, never mind some people just will never...

    getting too hot!!!

But you see it's not a function of time because the coolant will be back in the radiator in a matter of seconds. It's purely a function of how many BTU's the radiator can exchange in total. The thermostat regulates the engine UP to a temperature not down to one. Try this experiment: Drop a...
