    Carnage pics from clutch blowing up

    If you can't afford a scattersheild, you can weld or bolt a 5" wide metal plate (1/8"-"1/4 thick) around the top of the trans tunnel on the same plane as the clutch assy. Would give a little extra protection for if this ever happens again.

    Motor swap dilemma

    The 5.0 automatic cars got the AODE and the popular swap is to put in a 4R70W from a 1998+ 3.8l car. Should bolt right in. Make sure you use the flywheel that came with the engine. (Should all be 157 tooth.) The T5 has a problem with flywheel and bellhousing oddities between the V6 and V8.

    Motor swap dilemma

    Keep the V6. You don't HAVE to swap to a V8 to make power. You can put the top end of a Super Coupe on it and have a VERY comparible combo. If I had a 6er and REALLY wanted to have a V8, I'd swap up to a 351w. Even a "stock" one. You're going to pay for a lot of the swap stuff, anyway...

    Ok. I didn't know there was a BH difference, when I put the combo together before. I drove the other car a few times and the front bearing was singing and it didn't want to shift. The V6 BH requires a 164 tooth flywheel, I think. Posted via Mobile Device
