    Can you make it stop by playing with the shifter handle? It may just need an adjustment.. your upper stop bolt may be touching the handle. If that's the case just back it out like 1/4 turn and you should be fine.

    It will fit on the wheel, yes.. but I wouldn't go crazy on the highway or around corners, it won't be too stable and may possibly pop off the rim.

    Don't give up on it. Take the #1 plug wire off the distributor cap, then start your car. Let it run until you hear the knock (or don't), then move on to the next cylinder. IF the problem is in one cylinder, this method will let you determine which it is. Did you use the tdc combustion...

    It's worth a shot. The same thing happened the last time I tore my car down, got it running again it it was knocking, every 2 or 3 revolutions. Turns out #1 and #2 injectors were hooked up backwards, that fixed it completely. You're right though, the rest of them definately "fall into place"...

    If you're turning the pulley by hand it will probably more of a chirp chirp sound than a whine.

    It looks like a fuse, yes, and it branches out of the same harness as the tfi module on the dizzy. Pull it out to set your timing, and put it back in when you're done. When it's out, it keeps the computer from messing with your timing so you can accurately set the base advance.

    Well it seems like a pretty nice setup, if you're planning on doing it anyway I'd go ahead and get a custom cam, and then get it tuned. Port work at this point may not give you the results you're after, there's more to be had in those heads as they are with a better cam.
