    Mach 1 Break in?

^^^ That's what I'm doing right now. I'm @ about 400 miles so I'm dying to put on a few extra miles and change the oil. After I hit 1000, the tri-ax goes in and the fun begins... :)

MACH 1 Owners chim in please

Well, I'm sure a lot of those higher times are due to driver inexperience/error. I know that when I get to the track, I'll probably blow my first few passes badly. :D

MACH 1 Owners chim in please

Oh, and if you can get the Orange Mach 1, I'd say go for it. I'm still breaking her in, but she feels like she's a monster bone stock. Not to mention that most people notice it's not a GT and will come up and start asking about her. She'll be an attention grabber, especially w/ the orange color.

    300 HP guys in here

Agreed... I don't think GTs need to change to a cobra fuel system until after 400 HP or so.

whats your take on this guys?????

Well, ATI does make a kit for your car. But it's different from a Cobra kit. If the kit you're speaking of is a Cobra kit, the piping and chip are all wrong. The supercharger and IC can be used, but everything else doesn't work.

Where to find 2003 Mach 1 factory shift knob

Voll answered your question, but I find that story funny. When I picked up my '04, the shifter knob was missing. They had to order one for me and I'm still waiting for it. I have a stock leather one on right now. I guess there's a GT out there that someone @ the dealership "Borrowed" my...

Are Optima batteries good on the Mustangs?

The reds are NOT Deep Cycle. go to http://optimabatteries.com and read the bottom of the spec page for the reds. It specifically tells you they are not. The reds are an upgrade for standard batteries. The yellows are made for deep cycle use, such as for cars w/ systems like you said. People...

    Yellow or White Mach-1

'03 or '04 yellow? I wanted the '04 Yellow because IMHO, it was amazing. The '03 yellow wasn't as good.

I've heard they work as well as the "Amazing Fuel Saving Tornado".

Complete Idiot when it comes to....

Oh yeah, my aplogies scalder, I meant to reply to you too. IMHO, unless you do major mods, NO2, etc, your speedcal and TA should be fine. I'd rather not waste the money that could be better spent on other mods.

Complete Idiot when it comes to....

Your spark plug fires before your piston actually reaches Top Dead Center in your cylinder. This gives the flame time to reach the piston just as it reaches TDC and puts more force into driving the piston down. The factory puts some leeway into the timing, having the flame hit the piston after...

    Stroked And Bored

Stroking and boring can be done by most machine shops. For a stroke/bore, you need a new bottom-end kit (rings, pistons, crank, rods) and a shop to do the boring and possibly handle clearance issues w/ the rods considering your new stroke. The price will vary, depending on the shop and the new...

    Stroked And Bored

Stroking is increasing the crank's diameter so that you get more displacement. Say you have a 3" diameter crank that displaces 300 cubic inches. You change that crank, all things being the same, w/ a 4" crank, you now have an engine displacing 400 ci. This is an example btw, as it's more...

    Densecharger vs. K&N FIPK II

No! :bang: not another CAI question!!! :bang: The truth is that most people here will either tell you it's a POS and a waste of money or that it'll get you 20+ HP. The truth is that on a stock car, you'll see nothing and you MAY see something on a modified car. That said, I've heard good...

Have any of you removed your front swaybar?

By disconnecting one (or both) of the end links. You'll need a pair of wrenches, I don't recall which sizes. One wrench goes to hold the top bolt, while the other (or ratchet) removes the bottom nut. It might have a little tension on it, so don't care yourself *****less while removing it. :)...

Have any of you removed your front swaybar?

The sway car is made to keep both wheels firmly planted on the road during hard or sudden turning. Without it the front end torques and puts more of a load on one wheel, reducing traction. Although some people do fine without it, in the event you have to turn hard and fast, a car without the...
