    Pypes exhaust...good??????

I agree but remember the slightly thinner metal is because it is stainless. The thicker UPR and BBK is aluminized cold steel.

    Pypes V. Magnaflow help!

Hey just a couple of points I thought I would mention in regard to this topic. 1. You can special order a Pypes CatBack with the Race Pro (same sound as Magnaflow) or Street Pro(chambered sound). 2. All of the fit issues have been addressed and corrected. If anybody is having fitment...

Side-exits off, SS tails and Violators back on

I guess you could look at it that way if you had them up on the wall of your basement. :) Sounds like you are putting them to better use.

Side-exits off, SS tails and Violators back on

Dark, I appologize. It was pretty late when I read this topic last night. I just talked with someone on Friday about a similar situation. However, now that I read your post, I realise there was no talk of the Dynomax mufflers in my conversation. The conversation centered around the Pypes...

Side-exits off, SS tails and Violators back on

Dark, i was the tech that talked to you last week about your situation. Just to clear things up..... The Violators are the same size as most other mufflers. It's the X-pipe that is a tad long. UPR has the same problem. ONLY catbacks that have 'welded-to-the-muffler flow tubes' will not fit...

    frrp axle back??

Benspeed is currently the only place you can get the Pypes off-road H pipe. They have an exclusive. They are good people to deal with.

    FRPP Borla Stingers installed

It will probably be a while. That system will probably be sold as a cat back. X pipe, M-80 mufflers, midpipes and muffler delete axle Back. We're currently experimenting with the sound changes when comparing catted vs non catted. I would estimate late Fall before we would actually start...

    FRPP Borla Stingers installed

ok, fair enough. We are working on a system that utilizes the round Race Pro(M-80) However, we were designing it to mount under the floors to try and get that 04' and older sound. Therefore at the very back of the car there would be a muffler delete Axle Back. So you wouldn't see a muffler.

Which Violator's did you get? regular stainless or the polished 304 stainless version? We are counting on most people really liking the polished mufflers being visable. I agree that the plain mufflers would be a little nicer unseen.

    New Pypes Exhaust

The ProV is going to sound the same as the FM40. They were basically FM40 copies. We're discontinueing them. The Violator flows almost twice as good as both.

    New Pypes Exhaust

The Violator is not for everyone. Customers tell us that the drone is no worse then FM40's and on the contrary claim the drone is actually less. If you go with the Violator mufflers you will certainly have to deal with some droning at certain rpm levels. It will be worse if you have an off...

UPR or PYPES brand catted X-pipe????

Rob, Obviously we want you to choose a Pypes crossover but from a totally objective standpoint, the X's are literally identical. The difference is that Pypes reinforces the X weld area with stainless plates on both sides to prevent cracks from weld fatigue. Also, the Pypes cats are smaller...

    Pypes Exhaust?

All of what Zenboy said is probably true. It was sold as a $60 universal 'do-it-yourself' kit for long tube headers in our 'blowout' pile. $60

    best FITTING mid-pipe.....

The Mustang Tuning, Pypes, UPR and VRS X pipes all need a metal sleeve inserted into the LH inlet at the Header on 99-04 cars. If missing, the pipe will not seal properly. Anyone who is having sealing problems should confirm the sleeve is installed.

Ouch. The Pypes X IS the Mustang Tuning X. I guess all the members that posted above made a mistake. They just don't know it. ;)

upr x pipe or mustangtuning x pipe

The two x pipes are made by the same mfg. but with minor differences. The Mustang Tuning X pipe has reinforcement plates welded over and under the X to strengthen the weldment in that area. Also, for the 86-95 cars, the Mustang Tuning X has the air tube. The UPR version doesn't.

The tailpipes are 1 piece. If the car is on a lift, there is enough room to snake the tailpipes thru without removing anything. You might find it easier to take off the wheels on cars with really wide tires.

Gary, Our kit should be no more difficult to install than most other kits. It's a bolt on system but I'll let the guys here give you their opinions. All our tails (exc 87-83 GT) are 20" polished stainless at the back.
