    05 GTs walked by Used Non-Modded Z28s

Yeah, The Trans Am is about pure POWER without mercy or grace. If you want a low (very low) quartermile time right out of the box, then just get a Trans Am.

    05 GTs walked by Used Non-Modded Z28s

Don't forget Jim's 1998 Trans Am (stock) which ran 12.9, and second run 13.1 Not bad for a $8,000.00 LS1 car, STOCK.

As long as we have Supercharged Cobras, the old LS1's will be no problem

Mach 1 Newbie here a few Questions about my Mach 1

Ok, for the special people... The LS1 block itself was rated at 345HP or 350 with the Vette. the SAME exact BLOCK was dropped into the F-Body's. What came around the block was diffrent, intake, manifolds, exhaust... But ALL LS1 engines were produced @ 345-350 HP.

Mach 1 Newbie here a few Questions about my Mach 1

"Sorry the 01/02 with the ls6 parts are much faster than the early models." What are u talking about? All (base) LS1's were rated at 345HP, every year from 1997 thru 2004. GM lowered the # on the F-Body's to please the Vette owners. But the power output was identical.

    I Was Owned By Ls1

The stock '1998 Trans Am we had put down 307 HP to the wheels. You can do the math... Low 13's in the 1/4 all day. That's why the Trans Am's and Camaro's seem so invincible stock. Because they are...

The Camaro's look like they can kick your azz just sitting there. The Trans-Am's look like there comming over to do it...

Why can stock Ls1's beat the GT - a small insight for noobs to performance cars

Trans Am's without the Factory Air Lid dyno EXACTLY the same as the LS1 Corvette. That's why Trans Am owners swap out the Factory plastic lid for an aftermarket.

Forget about racing Trans Am's and Camaro's. There LS1 engines are insane.

Mach 1 Newbie here a few Questions about my Mach 1

No way the Mach 1 ran 13.1 "Bone Stock". At e-town the Mach 1 class runs an average of 13.6-13.9 In fact my friends Mach with exhaust, slicks, program and pulleys ran 13.7 with little wheel spin. Low 13's are more S/C Cobra and Trans Am territory

Mach 1 Newbie here a few Questions about my Mach 1

MT rated Mach 1 at 13.8, bone stock. Just a tenth faster then the '05 GT.

Is the '05GT Block all aluminum like the LS1's?

Why can stock Ls1's beat the GT - a small insight for noobs to performance cars

True. There's no way you take LS1's in the '01 GT with those mod's, no matter how good a driver you are. If by some chance your GT won, it was because the LS1 driver passed out or two of his cylinders were not firing...

    05 GTs walked by Used Non-Modded Z28s

The '05 GT avergaes high 13's, while the LS1's are still hitting high 12's and low 13's. The Trans Am's are faster, but look obnoxious.

Mach 1 Newbie here a few Questions about my Mach 1

    Yeah, I looked it up. LS1 F-Body's ('98-'99) Were around 13.5ish. While LS1 ('00-02's) were 13.0-13.3

Mach 1 Newbie here a few Questions about my Mach 1

The LS1 F-Body's were faster then the '04 GTO and about equal to the '05 GTO. The Mach1's were more of an equal match for the '04 GTO.

I'm still not fast enough! Help

Stock for Stock, the LS1 is almost a full second faster then the '99-04 GT. If we mod our cars enough, we shouldn't have to much of a problem with them.
