    After, but if you have flaws in the base, you will want to fix those first by wet sanding, then respray, then clear.

    what year 4cyl is that, I tried to do the same swap a few years back, the shifter will be the last thing to worry about, that K member is the first, the motor will not even fit cause the 5.0 sits up way higher on the K member.

    also make sure you guys are pulling the tranny straight out and its not bending on an angle., I just had it jacked up on a jack, wiggle, move jack back, wiggle some more, keep wigglin and pullin.

    Keep wigglin it, hope you have a helper cause it can be kinda difficult to remove in the position your probable in, sounds like you have everything disconnected.

    are you sure its not your tranny? Thats what mines did when my input shaft went out. Mines whined in every gear except 4th and reverse. When is the last time you added tranny fluid.

    I looked on Directed electronics website, they didnt post any instructions, I believe they want a authorized agent to install it, Ive installed alarms before, its not that difficult, dont wanna have to pay for something that I can do myself.
