Trick Flow Top End Kit.......which emissions legal Cam???

With 1.6 ratio rockers, try the Crane 2030. With 1.7 ratio, go with Crane 2031. I do believe Crane makes the FRPP cams and you can get the Cranes for less.

    Burning oil

If your engine has never been rebuilt before, the 4.000 rings are what you're going to need. I'm also pretty sure the stock stem seals are .500 in diameter. If you're going to replace the piston rings, you may want to consider torque plating and boring the block to 4.030 dia. Of course you'll...

    Burning oil

It actually works quite well. I use 5-minute epoxy and completely coat the inside of the plug base and the outside of the air fitting threads. I push one inside the other and let it set. It won't come apart easily.

You can modify an old spark plug by breaking off the ceramic and adding an air hose fitting using epoxy. Cheap and easy! :nice:

    Remove stock alternator pulley?

If you are wanting to loosen the tensioner to remove the belt, there is a square recess cast into the housing that a 3/8 drive ratchet and short extension will fit in.:nice:

    teach me about cams.

What are your HP goals for the engine? Is this a daily driver or a weekend warrior? FYI- The EEC IV computer does not play well with cams with much overlap (B-303 for example) but will benefit from higher lifts and durations.

    Fuel pump question.....

Assuming you are talking about an after market external pump, you may have a hard time getting the pump primed if it is above the tank. They are usually in-line or below the tank.

    Piston slap?

Sounds like your engine oil is draining out of your lifters overnight. This is probably due to your high mileage and may be an early sign of the need of a rebuild.

    Just to be different

ARAO 32 valve heads? I'm interested if anybody has experience with these 32 valve heads for SBF's. I'm looking to build an engine that is different than the rest but still runs good and has reliability. http://www.araoengineering.com/Ford/frdsmb.htm

    Building a 347

A 331 might be a better stroker to go with than a 347 as they don't consume oil and will run a tad better. Going with a 351 may also cost about the same as the 347 stroker but have a few more cubes and be a proven engine combo.
