Progress Thread TxFireman’s Electric Red Coupe refresh

Like I said I’m still mocking everything up and it’s not completely assembled. Are you by any chance an engineer? I get that vibe lol again, it’s just mocked up not finished. I have a Again, it’s not finished, just mocked up, I have a 2” hose that runs from discharge to the bypass valve (not...

Got some work done on the fuel lines to the rails, and started assembling all of the front accessories to verify proper alignment. The engine bay sure fills up fast! At least it’s starting to look closer to complete. Once everything is mocked up I need to figure out catch can placement and line...

Got my other alternator bracket back from the water jet guy. It’s made out of 1/4” plate. Fits great, just need to clean it up and paint or powdercoat it. It bolts to the front of the smog pump delete block.

The bracket you commented on is just the standard vortech main bracket and the plate is 1/2” thick instead of the standard plate that comes with most Vortech kits. Then the second plate will bolt on. No pictures because I haven’t put it on yet

I havent even put the front plate on yet lol. It’s the renegade dual bracket setup. Had the same one on my last Vortech setup. NO FLEX and a bad ass tensioner! These are the same brackets, not my car though.

Set the engine/transmission in the car today. Needed to get it put in so I could finish mocking a few things up, so I can order a few more parts. Glad to finally be making some progress!! Ignore the AC compressor, it’s just a junker I’m using to lay things out lol.

I mounted up the alternator with the bracket I picked up. The other bracket, the alternator stay bracket, needed some modification too. I ended up just doing away with it and making a new one. Basically it mounts to the front of the smog delete bracket then goes around the alternator to the...

Forced Induction Crank Trigger Clearance Issues Vortech

The other bracket, the alternator stay bracket, needed some modification too. I ended up just doing away with it and making a new one. Basically it mounts to the front of the smog delete bracket then goes around the alternator to the lower mount point. Mocked up a template and sent it over to a...

Started running wiring for the Holley today. Running down the back this time. Going to bring it in through the transmission tunnel and mount the ECU under the passenger’s seat. My wiring OCD kicked in so I stripped all of the loom off of my brand new harness so I can tuck everything nice so it...

Forced Induction Crank Trigger Clearance Issues Vortech

I made a post here and Corral about it. A member on Corral responded and not only had info/pics of the bracket he made, but he still had the bracket and shipped it to me! This should solve my problem, on to the next one! Lol

Progress Thread TxFireman’s Electric Red Coupe refresh

I was having some clearance problems with my crank trigger bracket and the case on my alternator with it being mounted so low due to the Vortech bracket. I had decided to make a bracket to swing the end of the alternator down enough to clear the crank trigger sensor bracket. I made a post here...

Forced Induction Crank Trigger Clearance Issues Vortech

I think that would probably be an option. Either buying a mount if one is available, or fabbing one up. Surely I’m not the first one to run into this lol

Forced Induction Crank Trigger Clearance Issues Vortech

Anybody running a crank trigger setup on a Fox with a Vortech? I went to put mine on today and there’s just not enough room with the alternator where it’s at. I trimmed the edge of the crank trigger bracket down as much as I could and still no go. Think I’m going to have to either find an...

My crank pulley has been milled down the thickness of the crank trigger wheel. It also has a spacer welded in to keep everything centered. So basically half of the thickness of the trigger wheel covers the spacer on the pulley and half of it covers the hub center that sticks out of the ATI balancer.

I Don’t know about all that but thanks lol. The intake was smoothed and polished by the previous owner. Then he had it powdercoated clear. No need to keep polishing it!

I love when I hear the brown truck pulling up at the house! I’m just waiting on one harness to get here in the next couple of days and I should have all of my Holley stuff!
