    AOD Shift Kits

Changing a valvebody is a snap. Once the pan is off, its just a matter of the 25 bolts holding it down. Remove them, swap it and reassemble it. A little trick is to put a drain in the pan while you have it off. I put one in mine and it makes tranny servicing a breeze. They are less than $10 in...

To lock or not to lock...Torque converter

With the 4.10's you'll be shifting alot earlier than 85 mph. Not sure exactly what mph but it should be alot sooner. You can buy the valvebody with everything you need including the wiring, switch, connectors and anything else that you might need. i needed one connector to finish the job in...

    AOD Shift Kits

Trans-go makes a nice kit from what I've heard. Baumann Engineering makes another decent one. If you haven't already done it, put a nice beefy tranny cooler on your car. It will go a long way in saving your trans from emlting down. Aod's hate heat and its pretty cheap insurance in my opinion.

To lock or not to lock...Torque converter

It depends mostly on what you are doing with the car. If you plan on mostly track racing, go with the non lockup converter. It will pull much harder in 3rd gear. Especially if you're running the Lentech valvebody. If you do alot of street driving and want to keep the better gas milage, do the...

Some valve body and tranny questions.

Think of the valvebody as the brain of the transmission. It is a series of valves and passages that trans fluid flow through to control your shifts. It resembles a maze of small passages that the valves control through line pressure, throttle position etc to make the trans shift automatically...

Some valve body and tranny questions.

Have you checked the fluid level? If the fluid is fine, then you've got bigger problems than you think. These things don't slip for no reason. Probably time to think about a rebuild. Check out www.lentechautomatics.com for one of their valvebody kits after you get it rebuilt. the street...

    Had AOD rebuilt.. good deal?

Most prices i've seen for a rebuild are in that ballpark, maybe even higher. A little concerned about the comment from the rebuild guy. What did he mean by that?

    Ok, stupid question here-T converters

The stall speed is usually close to whatever the rating is on the stall you have. Not too many convertors will go anywhere near that number without the brakes on. You need the brakes to overcome the partial engagement of the converter. the stall speed is the rpm that the convertor fully locks up...

    What speedo gear for AOD's?

I've been told on several occasions that the late 90's and up cars had the 8 tooth drive gear. you'll need the 23 to get it in the ballpark.

    Et Streets On Lx Rims

That is the exact setup I am running. They'll fit no problem as long as we are talking ET streets and not the drags.

    Questions about torque converters

Well lets see what we can answer here. Brake stall is the rpms that the converter starts moving the car when the brakes can't hold it anymore Flash stall is the rpms that the converter go to before moving the car when you stand on the gas from idle or just off idle. The stall is...

Approx. $750 for rearend to get redone. Good price.

Just a thought, but wouldn't getting a used rear from the bone yard or off the net and rebuilding it be cheaper. I got a new rear (rebuilt) and had the guy put in a set of 3.90's and it cost me $400 Can. If your not in a hurry, it might be worth looking into.

    Fuel Rail Disconnect?

Sometimes they require some muscle to get them apart especially if they've never been removed. Mine took a bit of time but they did come apart eventually.

    Speedo or Trans Question

The 23 tooth will get it close but not exact. The problem is that the drive gear inside the trans is an 8 tooth gear and we need a 7 tooth to make the FMS speeedo gears work. Ford changed the gear inside the trans after 89 or 90 I believe. The 23 tooth gear can be purchased from just about any...

    AOD with B-cam

I'd defiantely look into a custom cam. That stall seems a bit high for a mildly modded motor but a properly sorted out cam will make all the difference in the world. Check out Ed Curtis at www.flowtechinduction.com.
