    So I got the car dynoed....

    I never dynoed my car while it was stock but I have seen dyno charts of those who have. The numbers are right around 208 rwhp for autos (20% power loss) and 218 rwhp for manuals (16% power loss).

    The 2004 Grand Prix GT1 has a 3.8l V6 that puts out 200 bhp and 230 lb-ft torque. The GTP has a supercharger that puts out 260 bhp and 280 lb-ft torque. That's only a 30% gain with the supercharger. Anyone know the 0-60 mph time or the 1/4 mile time on the GTP?

    Anyone else have this problem? It seems that both older and newer Grand Prix hunt me down. Do they really think that they are competitive against a Mustang GT? All they have for an engine is a 3.1l V6. It's embarassing (for them).

    Whats more restrictive???

    The stock catted h-pipe is by far more restrictive. Replace it with a hi-flo catted x-pipe or an o/r x-pipe to gain 8-12 rwhp. The car will become only a little louder. The stock mufflers, from what I hear, actually flow prettly well so there is little performance gain from replacing them.

    Keep in mind that autos dyno stock at 208 rwhp. That means that you've added 22 rwhp with your exhaust mods. Some intake mods should help bring up your horsepower.

    I see that you have an auto. That limits your choice of LT headers to Kooks, MAC, and Hooker. I bought the Hooker ceramic coated LT's and am very pleased with the looks, sound, and performance. Along with the matching o/r x-pipe, I gained 23 rwhp.

    Unless you have an expensive air/fuel ratio monitor, the handheld tuners are a waste of money. After you've completed you're bolt-on mods, buy a chip and have your car professionally dyno tuned.

    I agree. I went the other way, however. See the mods below. As a result, I spent $2100 in parts and another $1000 in labor. For my $3100, I gained 42 rwhp. For about $4000, I could have purchased a supercharger and gained 100-120 rwhp. Do the math. It's a no-brainer.
