    oil in throttle body??

Yep, I do the 'New Posts" thing here in stangnet, a while back I saw a thread titled something like : Oil Separator for my (late model engine). WTF, these engines have so much blow by they come with a separator? I did a Google and darn, didn't find an answer to MY question but...

I really can't write much more than I've written. Laterally II engines and pinions are not in a straight line so there will always be a vibration. Link suspension theories don't have much to do with leaf sprung drive axles. Leaf sprung drive axles are set 'pinion low' so the pinion...

What's funny about that is I've had the ears on some clusters fracture and disintegrate just removing the screws, and I came across a cluster in a II that had been in a junk yard for so long a tree had grown up through the engine compartment. I pulled its cluster, stress tested the mounting ear...

Nope. Did you install the carb and the engine didn't want to come off idle? Went to the Holley site and Yep, no IBPs of the 5200/7343 (?). No wonder your asking, freaking Holley probably doesn't want to admit they made a vacuum secondary two barrel. :rlaugh: Anyhow, I'll bet the balls are...

where can I find a brake light switch operated off hydraulic pressure?

Thats the 'brake fault" switch, If pressure is lost in a circuit a plunger moves and locks off the low pressure side and activates the switch which turns on the dash warning light. You sure it's going to be easier to plumb in another electro/hydraulic component than a single switch?

    Studs snapped off in head.

The bits at the machine shop are your best bet. They'll have Left Hand Drill Bits. Too late for telling how to get a bolt or stud out without twisting it off. Unless you use a right angle drill on a daily basis your going to drill cockeyed. Count on it. And studs are hard. Do...

From watching Cali from this distance you may want to take many pictures before you remove anything, and you may want to save anything you remove because, well, you know. The Wind of Emission Testing may change direction. I'm keeping Cats on my cars because in the past I've had out of...

Plugged converter would fit the scenario. If it isn't being driven it isn't making carbon, But there was still leaded fuels around a quarter century ago. I hope you mean removing the Cat in one piece as, depending where you live and where you drive the car, you may need to put the/a...

    Electrical issue..flashing headlight

IIRC, the headlight switch has an internal breaker for the headlights. On other Fords with a failed breaker I've seen the lights go on for a while, then off for a while, then on for a while ... Or it could be a high resistance short causing the breaker to trip. OTOH I've also seen...

I've noticed there is an ambiguity in stating which way and angles, I attribute the lack of specificity to the ubiquity of the 4 link. Even a marshmallow soft bushed 4 link will not twist as much as a leaf thus 'under load' isn't near the issue as with a leaf. You **** your pants? I almost...

You mean the trans 'points down' 4 degrees and the pinion 'points up' 7 degrees? If this is correct your already 3 degrees 'above phase', under acceleration and while driving (aka: torguing the axle) the shaft will want to climb more out of 'phase', I can't see it ever being vibration free...

Speaker covers for the II were also used in other models. While factory installed covers were color matched to the interior the factory replacement covers I bought from Ford came in black, as far as I know that was the only color they came in. Which was a bitch back in the day because there...

Wow. 1) When measuring this the cars rear suspension needs loaded as though it's sitting on the ground. The rear axle needs set on blocks or stands or the tires on blocks, the front wheels need to be on blocks or the front held by stands on the cross member (on a line between the spindles)...

The high beam indicator could be on it's own ground, or the dash lights rheostat in the light switch could be corroded/not making contact/otherwise non-functional, Or, of course, the dash lights could be turned all the way down/off.

I've found removing the the bulbs twist sockets in a degraded dash an iffy proposition, usually met with flecks of white plastic from the cluster housing. And then they tend to not tighten properly. I have some clusters around here, I'll see which circuit on the mylar is ground.

    1) Those pictures brought back memories. I could almost smell the leaded fuel. :hail2::nice: 2) Damned if I can remember where the instrument panel ground is, it does go through the plug on the back of the cluster though. 3) Many/ Most (damned near all? ) of these clusters have "dried out"...

What's an easy Disc Brake rear end to swap?

:nice: I'm thinking that's pretty much the easiest way to go anymore. Use an 8.8, remove the brackets and install perches. I believe the 8.8 uses 3" tubes, 3" perches are easy to come by. I've heard of swap kits for the II/Pinto housing, didn't pay much attention to them because I'm not...
