got to buy a compressor - need your advice pls

But sometimes you can't wait .... waiting for the compressor to build pressure is often times better than kacking oneself with a breaker bar trying to get off a lug nut. I have a 60 gallon tank, the only reason I would want a bigger tank would be so the air had more time to cool and condense...

got to buy a compressor - need your advice pls

I work with air tools allot and have always advised to buy your first and last compressor at the same time (the compressor you really want). $300 now, then $600 later, now you have $900 wrapped up, 1/3 of it unnecessarily. OTOH, there are times I would like to have had a small portable unit I...

    t5 issues

 Only way I know of that works is using a protractor head or inclinometer. Level is irrelevant, and the suspension should be normally loaded (IE: Over a pit, on an alignment rack (or similar lifting device), rear wheels on blocks with stands under the front cross member, and so...

    t5 issues

A 'change' in the U-Joints (by being driven) would be one of my speculations. Heat, wear, binding, etc. How the hell do they get the wrong caps on a new set of joints? They come as a set. More than likely they lost needles during install? You'll need a machinist protractor or...

    t5 issues

From the number of times I've seen your situation posted I'm guessing it happens allot. My first guess is you may have a drive line angle issue. Quite a while ago I worked out how much difference drive line angles were changed by shortening the drive shaft a couple of inches, shortening...

    1968 "W" Code production numbers

.... I had a '68 Ford Custom Station Wagon with a FE that was cross bolted, so it's a safe bet it had a 427.

FINALLY found out why my car doesn't run on its own!!

If you put a battery of large enough capacity on the wire with the short you won't need a compass, just look for the smoke. :D

    clutch cable issues

Does the clutch work with the cable adjusted so the pedal is up against the underside of the dash? First thought is thats where the pedal should be, all the way up. You want it lower? Sometimes you don't get what you want. Second thought is, the cable is installed in such a way...

    AOD installed!

No, Tim, the two long bolts are redneck, every time I've seen it I've cringed but kept quiet trying to not be the bastard. Yours is the best idea I've seen. :nice: Threads Bookmarked.

There is no talking to ricers

Yup. In the Quest for Mileage the car was set up with a wide ratio top loader and 2.79 gears. I leave a light at a leisurely pace (with those gears what else is there? ) and get passed by an old Honda 4 door. As I approach the Honda at the next red light the children pop out of three...

    Questionable oil pressure

Get a real gage, preferably mechanical. No need to install it permanently. I'm not sure how 'accurate' (LMAO) or consistent factory gages were, or are after 16 years of use.

Swine FLU is it the big one?

I'm not sure if I would call it 'working at keeping us paranoid', it could just be the hot story of the moment. The nature of todays 'News' if Swine Flu fizzles out they'll be onto something else, or if it goes pandemic they can all say they were out in front of the story. I'm not sure...

Swine FLU is it the big one?

I've seena nd heard figures ranging from 75% to 95% of ALL disease could be eliminated with hand washing. I'm guessing 75% with just hand washing, and 95% with proper hand washing when needed.

Swine FLU is it the big one?

 I thought it was going to be the lack of honey bees resulting in the loss of 2/3 the food crops and us getting colon cancer because of the consumption of 'low bulk', industrial no turd foods. Oh wait, we're already doing that.
