    Mustang II Suspension question

The Conundrum .... It really irks us II owners when we see a restorable II butchered and turned to junk. OTOH I know where a II is sitting, minus fenders and windows, with a solid front, in a scrap yard waiting to be crushed. And I've seen IIs rot to an unusable state. I guess getting...

    9in Versailles in my 67?

Isn't that a question. I paid $300 for the entire car I got mine out of so I also got the 351W and C4. And a local bone yard wanted $300 for just the rear minus calipers, rotors, and shields. That would depend on your definition of bolt in. I've seen people take housings where...

OMFG I can't believe this happened!

:stupid: Heat guns are awesome, and destructive. I have two heat guns, one is a regular heat gun, the other a 1200 watt blow drier. Many times the blow drier is hot enough.

    Flywheels and flexplates

If the ring gear can be removed without damage it may be able to be reinstalled rotated 45 or 135 degrees. Most ring gears have a relief cut into the teeth so the gear really shouldn't be flipped. Usually ring gears are removed by creating a localized weak point and fracturing the ring...

    302 EFI

I'm just a puppy with EFI, so I may be wrong, I believe '88 was the first year for Mass Air, but only in a few applications. I believe most applications continued using Speed Density. I believe Mass Air adjusts to modifications (because it's an actual measurement of the mass of air being...

    lets talk suspension

A large part of making a car turn is balance. What happens at one end effects the other. Take a V8 car with no rear bar, add a stab, and it will handle better. Allot of people are happy with that. But add the heavy front bar and it handles even better. Or it should, because the car has...

    lets talk suspension

First time the rear springs are unbolted or worked on the best bet is to take it to a spring shop. All major metro areas have at least one. I don't mean a "Tuners-R-Us" kind of place, I'm talking a truck kind place that does car springs. More than likely it will be cheaper than "factory...

BTW, if your taking the rear springs apart make sure you have healthy spring packs or leaves for a rebuild. More often than not you'll find broken leaves.

There is also a difference in front bars between IIs that came with and without rear sway bars. I believe the front bar on my V6 Mach (factory rear bar) is the same diameter as the bar on my non rear bar V8, 7/8 or 1" diameter. The front bar on a KC is 1 1/8", I believe, and KCs came with...

    Wheel well factory coating?

    Whatever it is, it's from Hell. A torch is about the only way I can figure to remove it. It will come right off the rust. I would use the 2 part bed liner material. {edit} I think sand blasting is pretty ineffective against that coating from Hell.{/edit}

So, who's working on what these days?

I'm working at keeping my ass from freezing. Damn, 3 degrees. Not cold by some standards but frigging deadly to someone of my advanced years. :rlaugh:

    Taillights??

Before making a recommendation it would be good to know what relay is already in use and what it's driving/ the load. Just took a look, pics a link: I see, I'm guessing you ran a hot wire to the rear and are using relays patched into the factory loom? Which part of the relay are you...

Quick ? on Mustang II suspension

It's almost as though Ford looked into my day dreams and took what I want to do to a II. Now if I do anything near what I was thinking I'll hear how I stole it from the '10. Bastards. For now I guess we'll say Ford stole from Alcino. :nice:

    ticking in motor

He could take a drop of the 'milk' and dab it on the tip of his toung to check for sweetness. Any7 kind of sweet could indicate a coolant leak. Good excuse for a scotch mouth rinse.

    ticking in motor

I think you want to look through THE FORUMS to find a better place to ask this. Not to say someone here couldn't answer your question, just that you would stand a better chance of getting an answer in a forum dealing with the 2000 model. My first move would be to check coolant...

I'll be darned, THIS LINK popped up at the top of a thread in another forum. I didn't read it , it may not apply. But what the heck.

    Cash for Clunkers

I see nothing here to get upset about. That is unless your a SEMA member looking to make a buck by selling parts for cars that we would all be better off if those cars were crushed, or selling parts for cars that aren't worth fixing. Seriously, the scrap program isn't an issue. Now if...

Any hidden trick when installing new Fuel Pump?

Lucky you didn't rupture the fuel tank. If the car stops running I would first check the fuel pick up in the tank, the screens tend to disintegrate allowing the passage of contaminants, and scuzz tends to plug intact screens.

    Help on adjusting Automatic Choke

Sort of but not really. IIRC power for the electric choke comes from one of the stator windings which will not give the full 12 (or 14.5) volt rms. Also IIRC, powering an apparatus other than the choke from that terminal will cause problems like a buzzing in relays. So the electric...
