    I worked out the exhaust manifold issue on the Explorer 5.0 coil-near-plug proof of concept engine. I have a 1996 F-150 5.0 drivers side manifold on the left side, and I used a 1977 Mustang II 302 passenger side manifold for the right.

    In your fuel line pointer picture, where do those lines run? The fuel line safety clips are stock. I had as much trouble installing the new spring lock quick disconnect lines as you did removing yours. I ended up using wheel bearing grease to lube the O-rings and inside where they slide in.

    1970 Mach 1 Fuel Gauge Issues

    If this is a one wire sending unit, use a hose clamp and right next to where the rubber hose is attached to it, clamp a short length of wire to the metal stem and ground that wire to the body. The sending unit may not be getting a good ground where it is attached in the tank.
