    I need a set of full length headers for a 1972 mustang with a 351w and a 4spd toploader. I have read someone this site has used Hooker part # 6208 but don't know if it was a 4spd. Any help would be great.

    72 engine and tranny swap question

    My 72 came from the factory with a 302 and a 3spd. You could use the tranny for the time being. I am not sure if you would need a different bell housing and seperator plate.

    Kudos to CJ Pony Parts

    They don't tell you if something is in stock on their website. But when I ordered a set of magnum 500 wheels with tires mounted and balance on a monday and they were at my house on wedsday I was impressed. I use them often, I still shop around though.

    Nice! I put a 400+ horsepower 351w into ,my 72 fastback with a 4spd. Try headaders seems to work pretty good but haven't done a really nice exhaust yet.     Do you drive your classic in the winter?

    I will take mine out on ocassion after a good rain and the salt has washed away. The car has heat so the cold doesn't bother me so much. I work outside for a living so I might feel a little different on this topic than others.

    66 Coupe 302 vs 351W

    The 351w is about 65 lbs heavier. My cast iron heads complete with guide plates and studs were 48 lbs and my edelbrocks heads were 28 lbs complete. You will never notice 25 lbs on your front end.

    The Project

    Nice job so far guys. I got a chevy as well it is a unrestored 80 malibu that doesn't get too much attention until people catch on that there is a 454 under the hood. Motor needs a rebuild though get to it eventually. Good luck with your project.
