I went from 4 wheel drums to stock front manual disc brakes and it was a big difference. The pedal isn't much harder than driving a power brake car with a decent cam in it.
You might need a stiffer return spring. Before you do that take the throttle cable and disconnect it and then see if you can set idle. If your running the stock throttle bracket you might have to bent it forward just a bit. If that works check for wide open throttle after.

I am currently putting together a 351 w with edelbrock performer rpm heads 60259s with scorpion 1.6 rockers and would like to know what pushrod length others are running. This a 70s block and not one of the early ones with a shorter deck height.
I am getting int the process of installing a 351 w into my 72 fastback 4 sp car. I can't seem to find a pair of header that will clear the Z bar. I modified a pair of try-y headers for my 302. Is does'nt look like it is going to work with 351w. I would like full length headers.
See what gear have in trans it is probally a 17 tooth gear try a 20 or 21 tooth gear. That should do the trick .I have 235 go r15 on my car with 3.70s in rear and it is only about 2 miles an hour fast.
I have had this problem in the past I would put a new clutch in and it would be ok for a very short time and act up again. Probally a year or two later I changed motors and had a 302 from an automatic car. when in stalling motor I had to install a pilot bushing since it was an automatic motor...
Cool Car, I own a 72 small block one myself. There are a few items that changed mid to late 72. Check your fenders on top with hood open where the ruber stops are located and the underside of hood. The first 2 digits will be the month and the 3rd will be the ex. 1 for 71 etc. I recently had to...
