    Instead of removing the needle and seat trying blowing (or introduce low press air) in the inlet side - if the needle and seat are working you shouldn't be able to get any air past them.

    Fan Shroud frustrations!!!!!!!!!

    It sounds to me that appearance is the issue here so I would proceed along the path you've described. Keeping in mind that a minor trim on the shroud would prob only be visible or noticed by you. I do not have a shroud installed and my engine runs cool.

    I like where your going with things you are going to try - sounds like vaccum/carb problems to me. Do you have access to another carb you know is good that you could bolt on to rule out that possibility?

    Speedo gear broke inside tranny?

    The O-ring is necessary and if you think there is something floating around in the xmission I would get it outta there ASAP. Been a while and depending on what transmission you have I think all you have to do is remove the tail shaft to access the speedo gear.

    Alt light came on...

    I had an alternator go bad (one of the 6 diodes failed) and the first indication I had was the alt light came on. Most of the auto parts stores will test alternators for free for you. My alt still worked, just at a reduced voltage - not enough to charge battery.

    Burning smell after changing brakes?

    Shouldn't be any burning smell. Jack up each wheel and give them a spin - they should all spin freely. If not, check the rear drums to see if their too tight and check the calipers up front to see if they are sticking. Also did you tighten up the wheel bearings too tight up front?

    Cool, Thanks. I will try that.. but I cannot see a S printed on the wire or on the solenoid. What color wire is it? I have a 66 On my 66 the S terminal on the solenoid is the left hand small terminal and has a blue and red wire on it.
