Relax Jeff, don't get your panties wound up.
Dreaming things up? Why does it matter if I was trying to make a comparison? I was replying to your post with what I feel is relevant info. Should I ask permission prior to replying to your posts to make sure I'm not "dreaming anything up"...
Most impressive for sure.
However, stock long block (ie....untouched heads, stock cams, untouched intake, stock hyperpathetic pistons, stock powder-coated rods, stock crank, etc) DOHC 4.6s have been in the 9s for years....not months...
Very nice looking car - congrats! I had a 99 T/A for a whille. Neat ride for sure.
If I may suggest.....you might want to try to get by us lowly 99 Cobras before picking on our younger, more powerful siblings. Any time you're ready - just ask. ;)
FYI....a much better launch for ET.

Notice how there are no "bouncing" antics - the car squats a little, the front comes up (and stays there), and the car just goes down the track. 1.55 60 ft.
Howdy,
You're probably referring to this pic...
That picture is neat, but the car was twisting quite a bit due to low pressure in the passenger-side rear tire (I think the slick spun on the rim) and thus it isn't really what you want to do. At the time, I had a set of HPM...
Just to clarify...I never broke a halfshaft. I only went to the track twice with the stock IRS, both times with a 100% bone stock car. However, the live axle swap was the first mod I did (even before a K&N filter), and I had it planned before I ever even got the car. :)
LOL. How about a 99 Cobra, n/a, stock internals, nothing but bolt-ons and drag radials?
VIDEO
It's gone 11.60 on slicks, but I don't have the video (yet). If he/she/it still doesn't want to believe it, smile and go on down the road. :)
It certainly is possible. If the dyno run was done in cold weather, and wasn't corrected to SAE, then 330 RWHP is not out of the realm of possibility. Regardless, dyno numbers shouldn't be compared against dyno numbers from another car/dyno. The dyno is a tuning tool - nothing more.
To...
I will vouch for Jeff and his Mach 1 with every shred of credibility I have (or don't have, I guess). The car is the real deal. I've seen it run. I've seen it compete (against me) in NMRA Factory Stock competition. He makes ~320 RWHP. It is possible that he ran those ETs/MPH at less than...
Hehehe...that third link looks familier. :) I wrote an install article for the Corral some time ago. Unfortunately, it was lost in a server crash. Most of the text is still there, but the good photos are gone. You can see it here: http://www.corral.net/projects/blkcld/jba.html
I did the...
No, this is my daily driver. The only mod that anybody would notice on the street is 3rd gear. You could easily do the same with 3rd that was done with 2nd and 4th....ie...every other syncro vice all. Doing that, you wouldn't notice at all on the street. I had them all removed to make it...
Sorry, that is incorrect. I run a modified T5Z - but nothing like a G-Force unit. The main mods are the syncro's and 5th gear.
The 2nd and 4th gear syncros have every other tooth cut off. 3rd gear has all of them. The idea is to improve high rpm powershifting. 2nd and 4th shift...
Wow. SVOKING....you really ought to relax a bit. The "fact" that a Mach 1 is quicker (not necessarily faster) than a 99/01 Cobra is indisputable. However, there is no "fact" that it is better. That is still an opinion. For what I would want, it IS better. But for what some others might...
I'm sorry, but the difference between 9.8:1 and 10.0:1 is negligable. If you think other wise, please explain how this makes a "big difference" when it is "only slightly higher". A very rough rule of thumb is that one point of compression is worth ~15 HP. You do the math. The Mach 1 gets...
It should be noted that making more peak torque won't necessarily make a car quicker or faster. It is more important to look at the average HP over the intended rpm range.
Example...as it sits now, my car only makes 291 lb/ft of torque at the rear wheels, yet with correct gearing, it makes...
