Are 4.10's too big for a supercharger, or turbo?

well i have nitto drags, so take that into consideration when i say this, if i had some better drag radials on it'd do better..... if it's cold out & if sitting at a light & decide i want to go balls out, forget about it. i won't catch traction till the top of 3rd, sometimes 4th gear if...

depends on the type of s/c & the intended use. ie: drag racing, road racing, street racing etc

keep it, unless it will be a financially solid move that you need. ie, paying off any debt & coming back to the mustang/modding game later

actually now that i think about it, i have a friend that did this swap in his 98gt (but with the 3650 tranny). he goes by yellow4.6 on several boards. i'll see if i can get ahold of him & have him post some pics of his swap in here

    4.6 in a 96

the only two obstacles that i can think of off hand would be 1- you need a 96-98 GT k-member, or have the motor mounts remouted for the V8 2- the 6ers have 7.5 rear ends. you can make it work with that, but if it were me i'd definately try to get a 8.8 & put in at thesame time. since...

    VT N/A cams...

most guys that make good power with the II's have headwork done. headwork really makes the II's shine, compared to the I's. if you don't plan on getting ported heads i would stick with 1's for ease of install & because you don't get dramatic power gains comparitively between the two.

Just bought a car and speedo is way off.

so if the car has nothing done to correct a gear, how is the diagnostic mode going to tell the correct speed?

Just bought a car and speedo is way off.

but the one absolute that he'd need there, is to know for a fact that he was going 80. & that would be a problem for anyone in that situation

you can jack the rear of the car up & compare the rotations between the driveshaft & tires, to tell exactly what gear is in it. if the tires go around 3 & 3/4 times (3.73 to be exact) per one rotation of the driveshaft, you have 3.73 gears
