    I installed a new AOD and a B&M shifter during my restoration and ran into the exact same problem. Got it close enough to test dirve it, then discovered my brand new AOD was JUNK... so I sent it back and had them send me a new C4 instead. Bought the B&M C4 conversion kit and everything worked...

    OK, so I'm replacing the electric door lock solenoid...

    Why would you even consider using another rivet? Go get some small pan head bolts with a allen key hole in them. I keep an assortment of them in stainless steel so I can use them anywhere I need a bolt with a low profile head.

    Who has ran into this problem????

    Make sure the motor mounts aren't on backwards... did that once. Didn't realize it till I had the engine lowered in the bay. Had to pull it back out, swap the mounts the lower it back in.

    That one sweeeet notch you have there.... but really, all that work and you couldn't remove the hatch lock cylinder before painting? I can have one of those out in under 5 minutes... the least you could've done was mask it off. That's the kind of stuff you see come out of Maaco, not on a car...

    I bet the whine is more likely the rear gears and not the tranny. If the noise is the same in every gear, it's the rear. If the noises are a little different in each gear, it's the trans. If it's the rear, then the gears weren't set up right by whoever put the 3.73's in. Best way to find out is...
