blksn955.o, your sig shows "thumper ported gt40heads". What did that cost you and how much did you gain?

Should I use pushrod guide plate?

It sound like you are confused between pushrod guide plates and the liftert gally spider. Guide plates fit under the rockerarm studs to hold the pushrod in place keeping the rocker from twisting off the valve stem. The spider & dogbones are ment to retain the lifter in the bore. Those are very...

Do they make a kit u can buy to swap aode to t5?

Yes, with the same engine and an experienced driver in the 1/4 mile they can be about a 1/2 second or more faster. An inexperienced driver can smoke the clutch, burn the tires, shift too early, too late, or too slow missing the power band. Then you have him :nice:

Do they make a kit u can buy to swap aode to t5?

That's my point exactly. If your buddies shift too quick, a common problem, an auto with pedal to the metal will win. Most of the time 5spd's just "feel" quicker off the line. The difference is about 20-30HP sucked up in the trans. The difference can be tuning or that they just really suck at...

piecing together combo, first step, opinions wanted

Your 11:1 347 is not this guys 302 stock bottom end. It takes more to feed a 347. Too many people over inject and oversize they TB, bigger isn't always better.

Do they make a kit u can buy to swap aode to t5?

Faster depends on how fast and accurately you can shift. You will spend almost as much on the swap as you would to get a built trans and converter. Don't get me wrong, I like 5spd's. The question is would I convert a car. I think I'd just buy it the way I wanted in the first place. An auto trans...

piecing together combo, first step, opinions wanted

Are you guys reading this part? If by street car he means a 10 second street car, then maybe. If he wants a daily driver then he is on the wrong path. 30# injectors, 75mm TB, and a hot cam will not give him a very streetable ride. Custom tune all you want, but from idle up to 4K will really suck.

piecing together combo, first step, opinions wanted

30# injectors and 75mm TB will give you problems for street use. If I were you I'd skip the injectors, TB, and MAF and just get the intake, heads, and gears. Your 65mm TB and 19# injectors will be fine for a while. You can upgrade the rest later, but 24# injectors and 70mm TB are more of what...

Cobra GT40 heads, any good? what kinda hp?

I'm building an engine for my 94 Vert with P's & Explorer intake. I'm on a serious budget and the difference in cost is significant. All the stuff I've seen shows GT40's making about 5-8HP less than P's. I think that some of that is that GT40's have a larger chamber that lowers the compression a...

Cobra GT40 heads, any good? what kinda hp?

Get'm for $100. Then about $250 for a valve job. That's about 1/3 the cost of AFR's, but they won't make as much HP either. They should be good for 20HP where AFR's are good for about 40HP. Your mods don't show an intake. Either get an 94/95 cobra intake, Explorer, or aftermarket intake to see...

My idle SUCKS! What can I do??

Maybe this will help. It says to 93, but I think it'll work on 94/95's too. http://secure.50resto.com/product1.cfm?CustomerID=3785037&ACBSessionID=ly55E9RJM57R56XAVWbC&SID=1&Product_ID=2123

Tb for a 95 cobra intake

SorsCode, I've always wondered where the EGR from the center of the lower goes in the upper of the 94/95 cobra intake. Could you shoot me a pic of the underside of the upper to [email protected] Thanks.

Tb for a 95 cobra intake

You can pick up 94/95 cobras for $250-$300 in the parts section or on ebay. The opening in the intake is usually 68-70mm. An Explorer intake is also a deal, but you will need an intake elbow. 65mm is ideal for mild engines. Unless you get big port heads and a big cam, 65mm is all you will need...

i have decided on my h/c/i combo

As you can see, things can snowball quick. If you are on a budget and your engine will see less that 5400rpm most of the time, a better choice is Explorer P heads \w 1.7 rockers and intake. You can pick up P heads cheap, get a valve job, springs, rockers, intake elbow, P headers, 65mm TB and for...

torque these bolts.. you're kidding right?

Make sure your re-tighten the bolts in a day or two. You can get special thin wall socket or use a crows foot on the torque wrench. If you don't keep the bolts tight they will leak and you will have to replace the gasket. I use stage 8's on mine and they don't back out.

    Best intake?

Many people like the Performer RPM II. If you are on a budget, an Explorer/GT40 is cheap and flows almost as good.

desktop dyno on new motor ?

Average is 20% through the AODE, but that depends on the trans and converter. I'd say 255-265HP at the wheels. The "comming soon" combo you list should make more like 340HP, with 270-280HP to the wheels.
