Just bought a 2010 GT, what do I need to know?

Like I said, I have the dry AFE and it offers maybe a little better throttle response and slightly more whoosh at WOT. It really isn't worth the $$ from a performance perspective, but I think when combined with a tune it will be great...and it's reusable so it will save $$ in the long run.

    2011 V6 Test Drive ... AWESOME!

Should read all GT and lx pre 2004 including pre 2003 SVT Cobra. :-) As for it not being a true muscle car it could be argued that dual overhead or single overhead cams disqualify. If you're a purist only a pushrod V8 should be considered a "real" musclecar engine, right?

    2011 V6 Test Drive ... AWESOME!

I'm just commenting based on driving a 2010 GT. ...but having traction control on limits the performance. You won't notice any problems with traction because it will work its magic and prevent you from breaking the tires loose. IOW you're not going to burn the tires and chirp the shifts and at...

    2011 V6 Test Drive ... AWESOME!

Yee Haw!!! Get real man...that wolf ticket of a car can outrun most of the V8 Mustangs of previous years. Don't get me wrong...I love V8s and that's why I opted for the GT but the new V6 seems like it will be a great car. Yeah, I wonder about that too. You need traction...

Just bought a 2010 GT, what do I need to know?

FWIW, you can get slightly better throttle response and a little more noise than stock by using the stock CAI airbox and installing an aftermarket filter. I remember my 1990 GT...you gained 5 HP by throwing in a K&N and removing the air silencer. You gained nothing more by going to a CAI with...

Projector HID retrofit for S197 Mustang

FYI: There's a OEM kit over here that would fit, aim correctly, and look good for $700 shipped. I've never dealt with the seller but it looks legit and might be worth checking out. Not a bad price (less than the option from Ford). Saleen HID

Projector HID retrofit for S197 Mustang

Well...I have extensive experience with the OEM HIDs for both the 2008 and 2010...and they're both great although I prefer the 2010's.

Discounts on a New 2010 Mustang GT

I traded my 2008gt on a 2010 and the lot priced it at 25k...same price as what I bought it for new after discounts but with 19k miles on the odometer. 2010s are a great value now and have decent performance and great reliability! Many say it's stupid to get a 2010 now that the 2011s are out...

    2011 V6 Test Drive ... AWESOME!

For the '05 - 10 I wouldn't even think of getting a manual. ...I'm enjoying the auto (even with anemic factory tune) sooooo much more! I have hope that the Getrag in the 2011 is better than the Tremec though. .....

    2011 V6 Test Drive ... AWESOME!

Did you drive an auto? I can't speak for the new transmissions in the 2011's but I went to an auto in my 2010 and like it much better than the manual...I also thought the auto in the 2010 Mustang was superior to the auto they're putting in the 2010 Camaros. Harsh delayed shifts with a...

    GT vs Z28

FWIW, a bone-stock and barely broken in 2010 GT auto can beat a 90's SS Camaro...Camaro does put up a good fight though...don't ask me how I know this

Projector HID retrofit for S197 Mustang

The HID kits produce less heat and are designed to replace an H13 bulb (which the reflectors are made for). You get higher output and whiter light. I haven't seen any reports of glare or heat being a big problem. I think glueing a projector to a stock housing would create more problems...

Discounts on a New 2010 Mustang GT

I did the same deal as stanmckinney. I'm loving my 2010 and it will get me by just fine until 2015 or so :-)

Projector HID retrofit for S197 Mustang

Well, I think you missed my point. The actual 2010 projector style headlights ARE HID, therefore they DO provide much more light. If it was my car, I'd buy the 2010 style knockoff headlight assembly that I linked above (because they look good) and combine it with a HID retrofit kit ( HID...

    Keep 2007 or buy 2011?

I'm waiting until 2014 with the hope that I'll be out of work by then and can afford the $500 a month car payment  (extreme sarcasm intended). I bought a 2010 because the discounts are good (to clear them off the lots for the 2011s) and I want to wait a couple of years for them to...

I plan on doing it to my car but my wife says I have to put Strawberry Shortcake or Rainbow Brite on her steering wheel first.

Projector HID retrofit for S197 Mustang

I think these with or without a HID retrofit kit would look much better than the examples you've posted: Raxiom Chrome Mustang 2010 Style Headlights (05-09) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! FWIW, the 2010+ Mustangs have HID projectors as a factory option (in the style that the lights...

Tremec 3650 in 2010 GT Any problems?

Could be! That being said my wife has a Getrag 6 speed in her Mini and I'm able to shift into reverse easily when it's cold outside and drive it without gear clash.

Just bought a 2010 GT, what do I need to know?

Goldenpony gave you some good advice! MGW is "THE" best you can get IMO. I put about 1800 miles on the odometer before switching to full synthetic. Not based on any science...just my personal superstitions. I question the real gains you can get from a CAI on the 2010s. Yes, they say the...
