    2014 Mustang Speedometer

I have a 2011, and someone else in my household has a 2005. I go back and forth, driving both at different times, and a never really notice unless someone points it out. The difference in refinement, and the transmission/clutches are quick noticeable on the other hand.

    My First Mustang! Which One......

I've never really heard anyone cross-shop these, as a new V6 and an SVT Cobra are two completely cars. It depends on what you need in a car. SVT will be much faster obviously. At the same time, the SVT will get terrible fuel economy, and generally be more expensive to run an maintain, since...

    2012 5.0 Transmission Swap

:word:. It would be far cheaper to get a new car, plus you get a warranty.

    Anybody Commute With Their Mustang....

I have a 2011 GT with 3.31s. If I use ethanol free gas and just set the cruise, I can get 31 mpg at 60 and 29 mpg at 70. Of course, that can drop a lot on the weekend.:D

    2005 GT, $15800, Deal/no Deal??

A guy near me was selling a 2007 GT Premium Convertible with 5,700 miles on it for $19.5k. I went to see it this afternoon. It was immaculate. Someone else bought it this morning. I wouldn't worry about first year issues. My parents have a 2005 GT, and it as had zero problems.

Hopefully buying a '13 this week, have some questions

You got a great car. I wish I could have gotten Sync in mine without having to get the premium trim. (It wasn't an option on the base GT in 2011). Your price sounds about right, perhaps even slightly better than average. The original dealer trying to sell the no option one was trying to screw...

401HP/ 390ftlbs to the wheels with just a tune!

Stock 5.0s tend to be in the 365-370 rwhp range. Even if the dyno is a bit high, it isn't by that much.

    2010 GT or 2014 V6

If you are going to spend that kind of money on mods, why not just get a 2014 5.0 to have similar power, the sound of a V8, and a full warranty?

Suspension Roaters, really after 29k miles??

In my experience, brake rotor problems are pretty rare with Fords. My family, including me, have had a lot of Fords in the last 10 years, and none of them have ever had any warping issues. (In my experience, it is far more common on GMs). My brother's Mustang has 110K miles on it, and he's still...

Drivetrain A Mustang should be shifted by the driver... but?

On mine, the only minor complaint I have is if you are rolling in neutral and try to go directly into second (doing a rolling stop, for example), sometimes it goes in a little hard, though it doesn't grind. It doesn't happen going from 1st to 2nd, and I've found being careful with directing the...

    Wrecked my mustang :(

I'd hope they would total it out...Sure, they could "fix" it for less than its value, but if the structure of the car isn't straight, it'll never really be right again. Your insurance company is probably going to look at whether or not the difference in the repair estimate and the total value...

2015 Mustang Designated as the S550 Platform.

So soon, if I meet a girl in a bar, and tell her I have an S550, she couldn't accuse me of lying?:chin

    Daily Driver

The Focus ST may not be a bad idea if you want a nice mix of power and economy. V6 Mustangs have good power, but given you are in Colorado and likely at a higher altitude, you'd get more benefit from a turbo than someone closer to sea level. If you need some room/practicality for a family...

ANY IMPUT ON ENGINE WARNING LIGHT

The capless fuel filler has been a bit tricky at times with my 2011, but so far, it has only given me a "Check Fuel Filler" message in the info center. It has not caused a check engine light. Usually, I just jiggle it with my finger a bit, and that takes care of the problem. I've only ever used...

    3.55 or 3.73 gears?

If you were doing a lot of highway driving, the gears would affect fuel economy more. If you are just going to be driving slow in stop and go city traffic, changing the rear-end gear probably won't have much of any affect, since you're not in high gear in the city, so you'll probably just end up...

Is Supercharging Capable Of High Miledge

If you are worried about long-term durability, do not put a supercharger with a lot of boost on it. I would be very surprised if a 575 hp Coyote made it to 200K. A lot of boost in a stock 11:1 engine is not a recipe for longevity.

So what's it going to be?

I'd like stuff at a cheap price, but I'd rather have stuff that worked. I think most of us would agree that Ford's little experiment with Chinese transmissions has not worked out. A part of me would really love to see a "stripper" GT, but in reality, it will probably never happen. When...

    Modless and happy?

Nothing wrong with an un-modded car. It's a personal preference thing. Mine is basically stock except for GT500 mufflers. I wouldn't mind having a little extra kick from a few mods, but personally, I'd rather have the piece of mind that my warranty is maintained, and that I can get all it has...

who drives in the winter? She is going to bed today...

Mine went away for the winter about a month ago already. I will never subject it to salt. My brother has an 06 he drives year round, and my mother as an o5 that is stored winters. After one winter, my brother's under-carriage looked more aged than my mother's car has even today at 7+ years old.

So what's it going to be?

My hope is that the car looses about 200-300 pounds for starters. As for looks, I think there may be subtle cues from some of the renderings working into the actual design, but overall, I think the actual design will be quite a bit different, and hopefully better, than most of the speculative...
