    08 Mustang Gas Mileage

I have a 40 mile commute, mostly on the highway. About 6-8 miles of it is in the city, but I work at night, so once I get to the main road, all the lights are always green because there is no cross traffic at 4AM, so I can idle along in 6th at 40 mph and 1100 RPM without having to stop at all...

    Automatic to manual

Trading the auto car for a manual car will be far easier and cheaper than keeping the car but swapping transmissions.....and that's even if the swap works perfectly, which it probably won't.

    Three Stang Family...

Congrats all around. I too am in a 3 Mustang family. The only hard part is deciding which one to take when we all go somewhere.:)

Was the color changing dash and MPG reader an option for 05s?

On the 2005 base GT trim, that was part of something called the Interior Upgrade Package. It included MyColor, volt and oil pressure gauges, the trip computer, and aluminum finish on the dash, shifter, and steering wheel (as opposed to interior color plastic). I don't recall whether or not that...

    Need help folks

Almost sounds like whatever tune you had before disconnecting the battery, you lost when it was disconnected. I don't know how else to explain the car's personality changing with just a battery swap. You mentioned the check engine light was on, but now there are no codes? No codes means no...

    New 5.0 coyote GT

Cool. Looks like it is lightly modded. Do you know what all has been done to it?

    New 5.0 coyote GT

Private party or dealer? What did it have for options on it? I'd like to think mine is still worth more than that with similarly low miles. Sounds like you got a good deal.:nice:

    Gt500 Axle-back On 2013 Mustang Gt

GT500 axlebacks are great on the GT's. I did that to mine in 2011. It gives it a nice bark without being overbearing or droning. If you are looking for a mild upgrade, they are definitely the way to go, particularly if you are on a budget.

    Unfortunatly Mustangs Are Not Amphibious

The important thing is you are safe, and didn't lose anything not easily replaceable. Hopefully it wasn't a finished basement. For the record, though, Katrina was a 3 at landfall. This storm wasn't really a hurricane...it was more of a freak hurricane/nor-easter hybrid. Ironically, an actual...

    2010 Mustang Vs. 2011 Mustang

Given you are not a "car person" type, and the prices you are looking at, I am going to assume you are looking at V6 cars. The 2010 and 2011 V6 engines are night and day differences. 2010 was the last year for a very course and ancient engine, whereas the 2011 is much more refined and a much...

    '13 Gt Brembo No Pirellis

That's actually news twice over for me. Apparantly, they made some changes to how the cars are package since I got mine, including who their tire supplier is. In 2011, when I got mine, the Brembo package and an automatic were not available together (Brembos then were only available with the...

    2013 V6... 16 Mpg?

How you drive and the driving environement you are in often affects fuel mileage more than what you drive. If you are only driving in the city (stoplights, stop signs, congestion), upper teens are to be expected. When I drive all on straight, rural roads or interstate (cruise set at 60 or 70...

    2011 5.0 Oil Consumption?

No external leaks. Engine bay and garage floor are dry as a bone.

    2011 5.0 Oil Consumption?

I have a 2011 5.0 with about 7200 miles on it. I went to about 3400 miles before the first oil change, and it used no oil. I used Mobil 1 Synthetic at the first change, and for about 2000 miles, it didn't seem to use much or any oil. Now, in the last 1500-2000 miles, it has started using, and I...

    So Undecided!!! '11 Or '13

It's a personal preference (do you like new or used, do you like the 2011 style or the 2013). What kind of options did the 2011 have on it? Was it bare-bones as well, or did it have some extras? I'd personally buy the 2011, since I like that body style a little better. I think they also did...

    Engine Intake Swap

What vfast said. Don't waste your time. Longer runners benefit the Boss by allowing it to breath better at high RPMs so it can continue building power to the Boss Coyote's 7500 RPM redline. Unless you get a tune and raise the factory rev-limiter on the regular GT to 7500 (strongly not...

What's The Ideal $34k Daily Driver Build?

I'd say just GT with Brembo Package, not the whole track pack. If it is just a daily driver, and not a weekend racer, the 3.31 gear is just fine (particularly if the reference point you are coming from is a Miata), as is the standard limited slip diff. However, in a really nice climate, and if...

    08 Mustang Gas Mileage

My 2011 5.0 will do about 30 consistently (I got 31 once) on a commute of half interstate (70 mph) and half 2 lane road (60 mph), though it is still not fully broken in yet, so I'm expecting it to improve just a little more with time. My mother's 2005 GT will do about 32 mpg under the same...

    2013 Gt Price Comparisons

I'm pretty sure all the numbers on truecar do NOT include tax, title, etc. It is the dealer's selling price. As you said in the first post, the dealer is giving you an "out the door" price that includes everything. To get the dealer's selling price, look at the specifics in the paper work/sales...
