    Possible new car...Input please!

First, thanks for your military service. :flag: I would not use cheap paint. If the guy is painting it for free, it may not turn out that great but do not skimp on the materials. I have painted a few cars and last one I did was my daily driver and I used OMNI by PPG. Lasted about 2...

Differences in edelbrock rpm lower to rpm II lower?

I thought they had a different number of bolts or different spacing. But if the spacers are the same, I guess I'm wrong.

    cold air intake

Stock box with a K&N works great for moderate power levels (friend's car runs mid 12s with stock air box). For more power, get a C&L 73mm mass air - they work well.

car runs at 210-212* w/ AC in heat...Too high?

212 is not too too bad but you said it gets higher and that's not good. Do you have a 195 thermostat? Does the temp seem to go up while sitting in traffic? You may want to consider installing a new fan clutch and a 180 stat. With the a/c on, in the middle of the summer in traffic, my car...

Can youget 300 RWHP From bolt-ons?

And you are real close - not on the surface but add the LTs and a good tune and you'd probably get 280.

Can youget 300 RWHP From bolt-ons?

It can be done, or you will get to 290, with ALL available bolt-ons AND a good tune AND good weather conditions. Is this a 5 spd or auto?

    Possible Problem?

Have you always used the 5/20? Is this synthetic oil? Typically pressure will go up slightly after changing the oil due to the old oil begin broken down due to mileage. The pressure will also go up if you check the pressure when the engine is cold vs. hot (ie running for at least 20 min).

Size wrench needed for oil drain plug on 1997?

A friend has a 97 GT and has been using an adjustable wrench due to not having the correct size box wrench. He has now rounded off the plug and had to buy a new one. Once again, he went to use his adjustable wrench and I told him to go buy the correct size but I do not know if that is the same...

    5.0 vs. LT1

Is the 93 an auto car? May depend on how light your car is, how it hooks and your driving skills. All being equal, he would win however.

Shift Kit, New Springs and BBK Shortys Installed

Shift kits make a huge difference and as expensive as autos are, you were smart to buy a kit. The headers will show a gain too. Feels good to get some stuff done - congrats!

It still overheats, not sure what else to do...

The stock fan and clutch should be fine. Maybe you have a defective clutch assembly? If it has a warranty, take it back and try another.

    quick GT40P question

See if MAC will sell you the P specific headers or Central Coast Mustang. I bought two pallets of GT40P heads and I had some brand new MAC short headers. I bolted the headers to the heads and I did have regular length spark plugs installed. The rear-most plug did make a tad bit of contact...

Radiator flush products, yay or nay?

I've not found a product that actually works. You could try CLR as people have told me to try that but I never have.

    quick GT40P question

They should but you may have to run a short plug in the rear-most cylinders and be careful with your plug wires. I know that the standard MAC shorts will work this way so I will guess that the stock header will be similar.

    VT Install/C&L Question

I've had a few friends get their cars tuned with the C&L mass air and their tuners did not have a problem. They make good power so I'd keep it on there. This meter kit is on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=7993034544&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT

    Can someone identify this?

You will find several "extras" in the wiring harness. May be there for a pre-assembly test of the harness or who knows. I have a friend that owns a late-model Mustang salvage facility and he rebuilds these cars and there are a few things in the wiring that he has never seen hooked up.

What do you guys think of WATER WETTER?

Works better with as little anti-freeze as possible in the mix. Follow the directions. I use it in all my cars and I doubt you will see a 20 deg drop, unless your stuff runs around 250 and you use straight water with the wetter, but it is cheap insurance like he said.

Those who have removed unused wiring

I would not do it. Instead, use some zip ties and secure them so they don't make noise. I I build a factory five cobra last year and used the Mustang wire harness. My partner did not like all of the extra wire so he wanted to cut it off. I did not want to do this but he insisted. Well...

Is this a bad fan clutch?

If you have that much movement there, I'd replace it. Not too expensive and many come with lifetime warranties. Plus if the car heats up when in traffic/sitting still, the new clutch will help.
