    New Tires?

I'm running the General Exclaim UHP on all four corners and I'm impressed with them. I replaced the stock gators with these. My only complaint is that the sidewall is a little soft, however it doesn't seem to effect cornering speed but it doesn't have the riding on rails feeling the Gators had...

    04 Auto help...

Yep...good advice! And while you are in there you might want to install either a JMOD and or a transmission cooler. The cooler is a must. The Jmod will firm up your shifts the correct way. FWIW Castrol Mercon V is Ford certified and you can usually find it on sale at Advance Auto for...

    wiper cowl

Wow!!!! $205.00 ?????? Pricey ain't the word!!!!!!!! Get out the KY Jelly! Get some epoxy and a piece of plastic to put behind the crack to support it and repair the thing. BTW, I have a crack on mine too, right by the drivers side wiper hole... I'm going to glue it this week because there...

    Hawk Brake Pads

+1 OEM or Bendix which if bedded properly work great and have a lifetime warranty.... I hated the Hawks i put in my 2003 GT vert. Noisy, dusty and no difference in stopping power that I could detect. All properly installed, rotors resurfaced, anti-squeal, caliper grease on the pins...

Whining noise from transmission (4R70W) or rear end gears?

My 2003 GT auto whines in first gear only when accelerating. It's always done it. It kind of sounds like the sound effects in the Star Trek series on TV. It only does it in first and my sisters Crown Vic with 100,000+ miles on it does the same thing and always has.

    Accufab 75mm> 70mm.

Awesome post 5spd GT!!!!!!!!! FWIW I put the Accufab 70mm combo on my 2003 GT automatic and the car hated it. I lost low end grunt and had a weird idle hang problem when coming to a stop which drove the auto tranny crazy. Everything was installed perfectly BTW and I swapped units a couple...

    03 GT Rear Suspension noise(s)

Grease them up!!!! Haha!! Well the U-joints certainly can't hurt anything and if they solve the problem, your in business. If not you might try having a friend ride along side your car, or hang out the window and listen to see if he can localize the sound to one side or the other...

    03 GT Rear Suspension noise(s)

You are going to transfer more noise because of the harder bushings for sure, but the kind of noises you are describing sound odd. Are you supposed to grease the bushings on those things when you install them like you do with sway bars? Sway bars will creak, squeak and groan if you don't...

    03 GT Rear Suspension noise(s)

You really have to drop the drive shaft to check them and at that point you might as well just replace them. It's easy to do but I generally just bring the drive shaft to the parts place I use and they press the joints in for about $15.00 or so. One thing you can do is put a couple of your...

    03 GT Rear Suspension noise(s)

Have you considered that the problem might not be related to anything you did and just a coincidence? Have you checked your U-joints? Your symptoms kind of match what happens when a joint is going bad. Just a thought.

which tranny cooler are you guys running

I just bought the BM 70264 model from Jegs. I'm going to install it this weekend. It looks to be a solid piece but I'm not certain if the NPT fittings included in the kit are going to fit with the stock cooler line. I've gotten about 10 different answers as to what size male fitting I...

    Tires!

+10 on the General Exclaim UHP. It's a real sleeper for the price. They are made by Continental FWIW. I replaced the stock gatorbacks with them and the only difference in handling I noticed is that when taking turns the "riding on rails" feeling is less, IOW a little more give, however...

    2000 Saleen s281SC Hesitation Issue?

If your car is supercharged, the stock gap (.52) is NOT correct.... Most are around .35 or so, but check with Saleen for what they suggest for FI cars. If your car is NOT supercharged, double check the plugs. Sometimes if you drop a plug into the hole when you are installing it will land on...

    99 GT - Blown Tranny?

Correct!!!!! The reason they can get away with it is because by the time the tranny explodes, the last thing the customer will do is blame the shop. IOW you can use just about any tranny fluid in any tranny and at worst you might get torque converter shudder or maybe delayed or slightly...

    99 GT - Blown Tranny?

I may be wrong but I believe Castrol Mercon V is the only after market brand certified by Ford for Ford's that require Mercon V. http://www.castrol.com/castrol/sectiongenericarticle.do?categoryId=82915490&contentId=7028223 http://www.mercedesshop.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=201492&page=2...

    99 GT - Blown Tranny?

Did they use Mercon V which is what I believe the 99+ trannies use? If they used stuff that says Mercon/Dexron then you are screwed because they used the wrong fluid.

    Mach460 AUX Ques??

Crutchfield has a interface made by USA Spec that works fine with the Mach units. You plug it into the changer port on the back of the head unit. http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Group/ProductMenu.aspx?g=50900

    kill switch for anti-theft?

PATS system is pretty tough to beat without having a programmer to turn it off which takes time and crooks don't like sitting in your car too long. They will move right on to the Honda Accord instead. This is why theft for cars with PATS went way down. If they want your car that bad, they...

    2003 4.6 bolt-ons

Anything is possible :D In all fairness, the guy i know who had all the problems got one of the early models so maybe they have worked the bugs out of them by now. I still think you would do better buying gears.

    2003 4.6 bolt-ons

+1 A friend of mine bought one, against everyones advice, and when we went to install it, one of the bolt holes interfered with something. I forget exactly what, but it was impossible to install without some Dremel tool work. He sent it back. To each his own, but I would send it back and...
