    Mac Straight shot

    I can't compare to the straightshot, but I had the fenderwell MAC. I liked the way it looked and sounded, but it's a PITA to install the filter out in the fenderwell. Each time you want to clean the filter you have to take off the tire and pull down the wheel well.

    Another vote for the mid-pipe. It will probably yield the most bang for the buck of the items being discussed. Gears are great, but the install is pretty pricey.

    About 2 years ago I bought one from the dealership for $62.00. Last week I went to the same dealership and they want $83.00. You may want to get better screws also. That's a judgement call.

    I would say use the stops on a T45 for sure. Make sure you leave a little room with the shifter in 3rd and 4th to avoid the car popping out of gear.

    I was going to do a search, but I saw this new post. So are you saying with a MAC cat-back it would be better to get an h-pipe or Prochamber instead of an x-pipe? Is it better for both sound and horsepower or just sound.

    The dealership wanted $210.00 for them. Foncarelli, I've never seen the panels up close but I wonder how they would re-stick to my car. I would think if I applied double-sided tape they would not be flush and thereby let water in. :shrug: Could you get them to NC in 3-4 days?

    According to the shop I purchased mine, the MAC and BBK are basically the same. I would definately try to return it and go with something inside the hood with a heat shield. Heck I figure most of them use a K&N filter so why not use the K&N FIPK. If I weren't going to add a supercharger soon...

    I was thinking about that Cobra spoiler also, but didn't want to deal with the plugged holes on my deck. That's a good idea to trade with someone who has a V-6. I'll check the Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealerships near me to see if they can get them. Thanks.

    I never had a water problem with the fenderwell type CAI. It's just a PITA to install and when you want to clean/recharge your filter. You have to take off the tire and loosen the fenderwell. It's a little difficult to get the filter tight on the end of the tube also. There's not much room...

    lowering springs

    You can use the Eibach ProKit with 1.5" drop with your stock shocks and struts. H&R also has springs with a similar drop. The Ford "C" Springs drop only 1"-1.25", but they all allow use of the stock shocks and struts. With either you should not have to change shocks, struts or CC plates.

    Deep Dish: Mach1 vs. Blk Bullitt

    The chrome Y2K Cobra rims really bring out DSG and Mineral Grey, but they are a little expensive. The 03 Cobra rim would look good also. If you want black I would say FR500 then Bullitt. The Mach1 rims don't even look good on Mach1s though the deep dish does help a lot.
